I wrongly underestimated Austria before the tournament started. Decent team who play tidy stuff but Italy will have too much for them.

Just seen tickets are available for this on Saturday. Tempted to go just for the fact I've never been to a tournament match before.

Are they allowed 45k now for the knockout stages?

This tournament has showed about what you’d expect to see from cautious managers and players who haven’t rested in forever … in a groups round where the only teams to be eliminated, mostly shouldn’t have been there anyway.

Blah, cautious, energy-conserving football.  Except from Italy, who have been such a pleasure to watch!  Seeing them live, with a house half full of their fans, seems like a worthwhile ticket.

On the whole I don’t think there were any shocks in the group stages really…

Exactly, if the tournament was still only 16 teams only, you would expect these are the best 16 that are left, and would be the ones there. Germany almost going out and Spain not topping the group is about as exciting as it got

Yeah I went back on a few minutes later and it had sold out 😆

Loving that Italian midfield three. Real quality in there

Looking forward to this.

Love watching Marco Veratti play, a truly exceptional footballer.

Disappointed he's missed the last few tournaments through injury or Italy not qualifying.

Just an absolute joy to watch. He missed at least 1 game this tournament because he wasn't fully fit, but the first game he started, there was a beautiful cameo where he did some outrageous skill, beat a couple of players and picked a great pass.

What do you think his best position is? Lying deep, or box to box?

The likes of Veratti, Kante and Messi just prove you can be small and still control games.
