With the speculation of Marc Albrighton going to Burnley, I was thinking who besides Marc have been our best free transfers?

And to be honest I’m really struggling to name players, anybody got any suggestions?

I feel like this is a shock to the system :o

Bruno Berner was an excellent free transfer signing.

Also shout outs to Chris Powell and Marc Edworthy in our league one campaign.

He did what Nigel Pearson couldn't, basically. Exposed a lot of his shortcomings.

 That Cambiasso did very well keeping Southampton up too.

So who is to blame for NP’s failings everywhere else ?

You need to grow up with the eye rolling rubbish.

Did a fantastic job taking us from League One to the Premier League as well didn't he? Good old Esteban.

How many failings?

Carlisle - stayed up, job done.

Southampton - stayed up, job done.

Us - superb job.

Hull - half decent, inherited a squad with players on big money and had to rebuild. Obviously resigned to come back here.

Us - superb job.

Derby - shit and quite rightly he has acknowledged it.

Leuven - no clue because I don't follow Belgium football.

Watford - unlucky not to stay up and unlucky to get sacked.

Bristol City - so far not good but not his squad so I will judge next season.

I like you as a poster tbf but I don't buy this Cambiasso thing all the time. I think the signing of Huth was more vital to keeping us up than Cambiasso.

Look, if you don’t believe the cambiasso stuff then that’s absolutely fine with me.

I can’t say much more but someone else might be brave unearth to pull back the cloak on our flawed ‘messiah’

i would also pose the rhetorical question of whether or not willing a relegation battle when you put that club in relegation danger is a badge of honour but I’ll leave that to others as an open kind of debate.

It's hard to take anything you say about Pearson seriously. You always made it clear you didn't like him, even when we were excelling in the Championship.

As for your rhetorical question, we were a newly-promoted side and no-one was expecting us to stay up. You're speaking as though relegation would have been a big shock.
