I’ve always had a soft spot for Patson and I’m delighted he finally scored. If any of our fans are honestly pissed off that he scored then they need to re-evaluate some stuff.

Has anybody said they're pissed off on here? There's more posts saying how people are happy for him and how they hope he can kick on now. There were 20,000+ clearly happy on Saturday too.

On for a hat trick tonight!

Maybe a game that will suit him a bit better? They'll have most of the ball I should think.

I've not seen him score in person in over 3 years hopefully that ends tonight lol

Tbh none of our strikers have had much service in the box. How many times are crosses over hit (Fatawu) or fail to get past the first man? How many do we pile into the penalty area when a chance is in the offing? I’m not defending any of our strikers because none of them are good but they may be better with better service.
Remember a chap called Kramaric who did little at City stuck up front on his own chasing lost causes. Look how good he turned out to be when given the opportunity.

I’ve not seen anything personally but was referring to the post by Gamble92 further up that mentioned it (maybe I should’ve quoted it).

I remember a guy called Jamie Vardy that did alright in the same team at the same time.

The original post was daft. Literally nobody on here has said they don't want Daka to score goals for us.

Oh fair enough then, I did think it was strange hence my original post. He’s not exactly Faes or Vestegaard in the unlikeable department, is he.

He hasn’t just been signed up this season though has he, he went on a poor run under Maresca, and played under Rodgers.

What I find astonishing is the defence of him, because he runs round with a smiley face. Yet the same people have no problem unloading on the likes of Skipp or Ayew.
Despite the fact that he is in his 4th season and been fairly dog shit the whole time

we know he's shit, but (astoundingly) he's the least shit option up top, all things considered

I think me and many others have been in the ground plenty of times where the usual people who love to belittle players do nothing but jeer him.

I don't begrudge anyone being extremely unhappy with our club. I've been as pissed off as anyone. But openly mocking players to the degree some "fans" do is unlike anything I've seen from other clubs. There was people around me who did it to Lloyd Dyer and Nacho too from memory. They don't look like they actually want us to win games. Very strange people.

I wasn’t questioning his starting role, it was the post insinuating he could be like kramaric who played just over 900 mins here

Daka is on over 6000 mins

We can’t hold players to the standard of our greatest ever.

The fact Vardy was so good papered over the cracks of systemic failures for years. Not Vardy’s fault but he managed to stave off Top and Rudkin’s incompetence almost single handedly meaning they’ve gotten away with it. It’s only now that we don’t have a generational type player we’re in such a mess

Why do you think it resonated with enough people to get that many likes then?

We all know people who turn up to our ground with nothing good to say, laugh and jeer our players and not even celebrate when one of them scores. I could tell you countless times I've seen it. Daka is another in a long line of players I've seen it happen to.

Your original post referred to people ‘on here’ who didn’t want Daka to score. I’ve never seen anyone on FT write such a thing, though I’m happy to be corrected if you have any examples. I’m not disagreeing with your comments about the behaviour of certain very negative fans in the ground.

The match threads calling him a donkey and competition winner are certainly a lot more busy when he's missing than they were at the weekend. But yeah the ones in the ground are the ones I am mainly speaking about.

I think you’ve misunderstood. I didn’t insinuate he could be like Kramaric. I made the point that Kramaric struggled because of being isolated up front with poor service.

as I alluded to via appearances, he has played for about 6 different managers across 4 seasons I don’t think that can be used as an excuse for every side he has played in.

Wasn’t looking to make excuses. Did I say he was good? No. Quite the contrary so I’m not sure what your point is.

So you didn’t compare him to Kramaric but made a point of saying remember kramaric look how good he turned out to be when given the opportunity.

Makes sense

There’s no comparison of Kramaric with Daka and much as you might try that is not what I said. The point is if you don’t create the chances for your strikers don’t be surprised if they don’t score. If we’re going to threaten we need bodies in the box and quality ball for them to feed off and we’re not doing that.
