They’ve responded with a 10% refund off the value. I think that’s a joke.

I worked for Argos last year. 10% is staff discount rate.
offered you nothing basically

They will not increasing it so that’s that. Never using them again.

Why will they not be increasing it? Tell them to increase it! Otherwise you’re getting a chargeback from your credit card company. You can’t expect them to roll over for you, fight for it!

Just make sure you tell them that you took time off work to be available for the first 2 cancelled deliveries and this has left you out of pocket, you can claim money back on this basis.

Mentioned having to stay in but it was weekends. Which for me is worse as had to lose out on doing stuff

Plenty of people work weekends mate, do you think the CEO of Argos knows when you do or don't work?

This is what they responded with when I said the 10% was not acceptable:

Thank you for your email.

Really sorry to hear you are not happy with the gesture of goodwill I have provided and although I do appreciate every customer has their own perception of what is fair and reasonable where compensation and a gesture of goodwill is concerned; I do believe the 10% given is a more than fair and reasonable acknowledgement of regret on behalf of Argos and as such, I must advise the amount will not be increased.

Please accept my apologies for any further disappointment this response may cause.

I’d cancel the order on principle, rather sit on the floor.

I suspect Una has channelled the anger from this thread in kick-starting the dogs Vs cats saga in one of other threads 🤣

Seriously although mate, hope the delivery will go without any hitch.

Spoke to them today and they are now delivering next Friday. The lady has made a note on the order to advise I get compensated. I need to call up as soon as it is delivered to confirm. I wonder what I’ll get. I did say to them you don’t want me telling all my family and friends to never shop at Argos do you.

Is that today or next week?

I work for an online shopping site and to be honest once you’ve dispatched the order to the courier it’s a ****ing nightmare.

About 2/10 of the orders never get scanned onto the system so they’re ‘missing’ and since the courier can’t prove they’ve received it you can’t claim for the money back, so you have to send the customer a free replacement.

Once you send a claim they have to ‘investigate’ it - which always comes to nothing anyway.

During the pandemic we had a few orders which were ‘delivered’ but were shoved in someone’s hedge on a completely different street.

Sometimes on our portal you can see the courier has ‘received it’ and is processing it but for the customer it shows that we haven’t sent it out yet, so half the time the customer complains saying I’m a liar 😂

We had a lot of parcels go ‘missing’ so I’m sure half the time they just get nicked by someone at the depot, cheeky cvnts.
