I'm sure we could tie him to a good contract but I've heard he's a bit ropey.

Brilliant

Lasso or BR?

The TV series; it's got a warm and goo-ey feel to it. Some nice moments, some excellent lines, a good bit of light weight entertainment overall.

BR; dunno. I hope he's not so wedded to his strategy as to overlook the strengths in his team (that could almost be a line fron Lasso)

In the original Ted Lasso commercials in the summer of 2015, Ted Lasso was offered the job at Leicester (Lie-chester, as he put it.) Probably at the request of Arlo White, who was doing commentary for NBC at the time.

I love the show, which is much better than its one joke setup (most of the cringy moments are them trying to shoehorn in the jokes from the original commercial, which are funny there, but not funny in the show.) But my family and friends say it is huge in America, and MLS and the Premier League have embraced it to promote themselves to U.S. audiences.

My wife wanted to give it a go, given our family circumstances. Only drawback is that I get back my Texas accent for an hour or two after the show (Lasso may be from Kansas, but his accent is much more southwest). I had been living in Europe for nearly a decade when we met, and had mostly mellowed into a non-descript, non-regional accent throughout our courtship: The Texas twang freaks her out.

But it has quotes like this: "I love meeting people’s moms. It’s like reading an instruction manual as to why they’re nuts."

You lads and lasses in the UK have to watch this series it's brilliant.I got turned onto it by my wife of all people (non footy person!) when Apple first aired it here in the US last year.

I had heard of Jason Sudeikis and seen him in some shows as well as the spoof character he did to promote NBC sports when they first got the license to air the premier league

from Fox sports so many years ago. Anyway, I watched the 1st episode and was hooked. To be honest I was skeptical as to how authentic the material would be that they were

using for the show. The researchers and script writers are excellent as are the character development. of course its meant to be more than just a show about English footy so as to

appeal to a wider audience but the footy stuff is not bad. The show is filmed entirely in the UK at multiple venues. AFC Richmond (made up name) is not only a piss take of Crystal Palace

but they've actually used Selhurst Park as their home ground prop just swap out the eagle for the dog - everything else is the same. Didn't meant to turn this into a rotten tomatoes

review but go watch it and see for yourself. oh and Roy Kent (literal piss take of Roy Keane) is hilarious too especially as a salty, foul mouthed pundit on sky sports news. lol

Is this on Sky or summat? I haven't got Sky so probably won't get to see it unless there's some other way?

Apple TV - imagine it is streamed in a few places...

I also see that the Leeds United manager isnt a fan either :D

Haven't got Apple TV and not intending to pay for another streaming service. Shame.

Early days but Marshe does seen a bit cringe worthy. Especially that on pitch huddle on Saturday. Eurrrgghh.
