Stay up this year, and the expansion happens.

Safe standing first and then a new upper tier in the East Stand as well as improved concourses. It could be a game changer if done right as our stadium looks dated and tired when compared to clubs in a similar position.

Agree with you

the staying up bit looks slightly less than 50:50 currently

Yep can definitely see us getting left behind by a number of clubs expansion wise.Top and the board have simply dithered and just made it harder and more expensive to get tickets.Should have been completed during the nine seasons in the prem.Wont be surprised if it doesn’t happen.

More dithering only makes it more expensive as well, are they expecting deflation or something?

I still have the opinion its not happening under this ownership now, the plans include KP hotels, when KP is no longer our owner, and there is little evidence that they willing to put this sort of investment into the club going forward.  Are they even capable as it now has to come out of personal wealth not KP income.

The plans also lacked ambition 40k is a bit 'meh', should have been 48k, and doing that alongside not self imposing a embargo 2 summers ago we would be in a much better position, and probably would have filled it or close to filled it.

Now it feels like proportionally compared to other clubs the 31k or so capacity we currently have in 5 years will be like when we were back at filbert street.

We also wont be an established EPL club under this current ownership again, so if thats a requirement its off.

I imagine with the rumours swirling around about potential breaches, this is well and truly buried?

It was buried the moment we got relegated

I think at some point Top is going to start this just to save face. As more and more turn against him he will have two choice. Follow through or fvck off.

We would need at least 4 or 5 seasons of Premier league stability and comfortable league positions, before we even consider re looking at this.....

Unless KP themselves paid for it, which I'm not even sure is allowed?

He doesn't care about saving face. He's a billionaire and we are now a monument

Well he isn't doing much else that his father would have wanted in terms of how he's running the club is he?

I'm just a character on here, a bit like Lorraine Kelly.

I'm so positive in real life that I have to be a miserable bastard on here. I will try to show more of my true self to the forum this year, hopefully without getting banned

We were a very different club when this got approved. Expansion need to happen when a club is on the up. We can’t fill the ground now, so what’s the point of extending it?

This isn't happening

Exactly. If anything, PSR should have made this project more likely as they have been unable to piss away as much money.

That's a very shortsighted view. The expansion has to be in place ready to go once the club is back on the upward trajectory. Not sure what the problem is with some empty seats in the meantime.

Personally i find the problem is sitting in a ground with loads of empty seats is sh*t.  It takes away from the atmosphere which is already struggling.

There used to be more noise and passion in the stadium with 10,000 empty seats.

We could well be in the championship for a long time and you’d be happy with 10,000 empty seats every week? It’s not shortsighted we just aren’t in that position anymore.

I literally can't think of one ground expansion that's not increased attendances. At the moment alot of people are either priced out or out of the habit of going to games . This is quite easy to change.

Last of all the club can not sell season tickets for the last few rows . So if empty seats scare you, you won't hardly see them and on demand those seat can then be sold to members/ non members.

To expand a stadium you need demand. You only have to look at how many empty seats there are this evening to know the demand is not there.

The club is not in a position to expand it yet. They need to get pricing right and get a better grip of understanding and engaging with fans.
