This will not work for him in this league, the tempo is greater and you are going to be closed down a lot quicker.

One of the best defensive midfielders in the world, and certainly the best we ever had, never looked to offload quickly and was always wanting to transition the play himself.

 

In fact, a few weeks ago we let him transition the play that much he scored against us because no one closed him down
