RIP Frank.

Left us just before my time but did get us to an FA Cup final, as well as relegated and promotion back to the top flight before the Bloomfield rebuild.

RIP.....

Didn't know much about him as I was born in 72

We do appreciate our past players and managers...... didn't realize he managed Man U aswell and his news just got posted 20min ago on Redcafe 🙄 and hasn't got any posts yet......read that he was treated badly by ManU and had to sign on in the Labor exchange because they didn't pay his wages and that he was really undermined at his time there.

He came from an era where you had proper old school managers and footballers with none of the fancy stuff you have now.

I wrote to him as a child during the 1971 cup run got a lovely reply and fox crop sew on old style badge. Got us promoted and FA cup quarter final that year. Will be missed.

Good manager, was sorry to see him leave. RIP.

He had his own song after he left, the chirpy chirpy cheep cheep one, but sang without rancour. He deserved his chance at the big time and always looked back with affection at his time at Filbo.

Very sad news, RIP Frank. I remember when he joined City the Torquay fans were not best pleased as they were doing well at the time. I agree with Bourbon Fox, the signings of Willie Carlin and Bobby Kellard were master strokes, giving the City a real steel and snap in midfield.  I also remember him helping to carry off with the trainer, the injured Allan Clarke who had just hit the late winner in the FA Cup semi final against West Brom! I was behind the goal at Hillsborough in which he scored.

"Kellard gets it, Carlin gives it!"

Played in the same team as the great Tom Finney at PNE and scored for Ireland in a 5-3 loss to France in the 1954 World Cup.

Correction. 1953. World Cup qualifiers.

Nice to see someone do something.

Man Utd have got black armbands on tonight and he wasn't as successful there as he was here.

City manager when I first started to go to Filbert Street he created an exciting attacking team. Didn’t work out for him at Man U but impossible to follow the legend of Sir Matt

I was slightly surprised no club led minutes applause for him and Gordon Lee on Thursday night.

Maybe at the Brentford match?

If not then it's poor.
