Waste of time and effort for whats a pittance really

If that was the case why would they be planning a bigger shop in the new stadium.

Why sale merchandise at all?

Just a thought but maybe having new kits every season suits the manufacturer and shirt sponsors too. New kits create column inches, clicks, YouTube views, and a lot of chat about whether the kits are good or not and therefore an increase on where sponsors are seen.

New kits also mean new templates. New templates can be used by local teams across the world giving these amateur sides the feeling of wearing the latest garb, and so that's more money in the pocket of the manufacturers.

Brentford is an outlier. So much so that it's a story and creates more exposure itself. If everyone had a two-year cycle, it wouldn't be newsworthy.

From an environmental standpoint, it would be good if all sides had kit cycles of at least two years (or, as someone else has suggested, one new kit per season but each kit lasts two years so the new kit alternates between home and away... or even home, away and third). Alternatively maybe we should be pushing for more kits to be made from recycled materials.

We make £500,000 from shirt sales....we made £2 mill from just finishing above Wolves....we don't need the money at all otherwise why are Brentford not bothering?

Who cares what Brentford are doing? And we do need the money for sure. Posted huge losses

I certainly wouldn't mind that 'pittance'

In reality though, LCFC is still a modern business where they will look for any way of squeezing an extra half a percent extra revenue here and an extra half of a percent of a saving there. Because they're also a football club you think they can just suddenly turn their noses up at £500K?

As said multiple times, Brentford haven’t been selling this seasons kit for 35% off for 2 months!

You sure about that? At 60 quid a pop for a adult shirt that's only about 8000 shirts.

Figures suggest we shift comfortably more than that. Some research suggests we shift over 50k annually a season now. Even with costs that's got to be worth more than 2 million,  and that doesn't allow for the fact a full kit costs a lot more even in kids sizes.

See Cov have gone retro with their new  kit ,dont suppose we'll be  that lucky.

Nice kit ruined by the sponsor going over the side bits which I believe pays tribute to Coventry Cathedral?

Yeah its 50k but we only see about 7.5% profit ourselves from each shirt...rest goes to adidas

Brentford are also a markedly poorer football club than we are.

We have lost around 100m over the last two season, I don't think we will be turning down any additional income

Yeah because £500k in kit sales is going to make all the difference isn't it

There are lots of 500k’s in our business

they all add up

and it’s more than that anyway - in addition, adidas pay us and part of that agreement is an annual kit launch …..

Not much good having that this year if they can't get the supply of kits in time for the new season.....just jack it off for a year....no ones to blame other than Covid....saves the environment....saves parents money having to fork out on the new kit and we just wear this seasons kit for another 12 months....where is the harm in that?

Talking nonsense mate. There is no way they’d have a clearance sale on something they’d sell for another year. Terrible business.

Blame Covid, despite us successfully releasing a kit 12 months ago when things were a lot worse than they are now 🤷‍♂️

It’s only really shanghai that’s been locked down in China for a lengthy period.

they don’t make football kits there, nor do they produce the fabric in that area.

I can’t see why there would be any big problems.  Vietnam had issues a few months ago. I think our kits are made in Thailand. There could be some production hangover but I would think it would be resolved within a few weeks
