In prep for the Leicester half I'm running 5-6 miles  tonight and 8 on Thursday. Then I'm resting the bones til Sunday. Like @Raj said what you do this week won't make little difference.

Unless you do too much.

NO,doing too much in the last week will actually have a negative affect and probably get you a nice injury.

Still getting over this cold but thought I would run 10k at the pace I’m targeting on Sunday. Absolutely not happening if that’s anything to go by.

Can anyone recommend a good running watch? Ideally wouldn't want to pay more than £200. Will only use it for running and would like to be able to play my music from it (so I don't have to take my phone).

I’ve recently bought a Garmin Forerunner 965 but as above it was quite a bit more than £200 and you may struggle to get one you can add music to for that. There is a Forerunneer 265 which is around £400 I think but doesn’t have music downloads (I think) and some GPS features.

Interested to know what shoe everyone is currently running in.

I’ve got Hoka Rocket One I think but they are 4 years old and falling to bits so getting some more for Christmas. Would be interested to see what people recommend as it’s a minefield with me running anything from 5k to probable marathons.

Coros Pace 3 is a fabulous watch and great value for money.

I have a few pairs….

Mizuno Wave Rider 26 - cost £31 - for an every day shoe

Saucony Ride 17 - parkrun shoe when not chasing time

Saucony Ride Trail 15 - my light trail shoe

Nike Air Zoom Tempo Next% - on their last few runs but used for faster parkrun/half marathon/marathon shoe

Nike Vaporfly - for the odd occasion when o fancy a fast, flat, tarmac run.

This is where I must point out that I have 4 x Runners Need 50% discount every year through my health insurance! Plus I buy last seasons shoes.

On the lookout for a new race shoe so I I’ll be taking a trip to Derby Runner soon.

Anyone had the email from half marathon? Looks unlikely to go ahead.

With the current state of my knee that’s a relief but it’s a bit shitty if they cancel.

That they’ve put that out suggests to me it’s down to a 10k, rain or no rain tomorrow

Sounds unlikely doesn’t it but will see what they say tomorrow.

My weather apps don't say anything about heavy rain this weekend. I hope it goes ahead but I'll do the 10k if not and look at another nearby soon.

Silverstone & Alton Towers have events in November off memory

Removal of marathon aspect, cancelled before because of weather (route is quite clearly problematic), the silly headphone rule. I don’t know why people bother with the Leicester half marathon.

In my experience the headphone rule is standard at all major city runs. Bone conductors only
