Yes this really pisses me off. And I think people have gotten way worse about it.

I’ve literally had incidents when I’m running towards a group of 4 people, all walking side by side, taking up the entire width of the path. And they see me running towards them, from at least 200-300m away.

And they just don’t move or register you. I just kept my form, pace and position and end up in a game of chicken with them. It’s maddening.

Absolutely mate. Happens all the ****ing time and tbf I don't care if I run into them, I won't stop to check on them either.

The self importance people have in everything nowadays is off the scale.

Woke up, ran a 1:53 Half Marathon at my zone 2/3 easy/mod pace. Bodes well for Leicester Half in 8 weeks when I want to run sub 1:40.

Oh, ended up getting the Nike Vomero Plus in the end for easy/Long runs. Absolute beast of a shoe, could have carried on running forever this morning.

I'm a big fan of the Vomero Plus, lots of cushion which I appreciate with having more of a Rugby player build! Very solid effort and pace that, especially in that shoe :appl:

Set my new 30k record this lunchtime at 2:21. Prev was 2:25. I was on track for under 2:20 but a bit like my last marathon run, the legs died off again for a bit. Can only put it down to fatigue as I'm practically not having a day off running atm and I'm sat at 250km for the month. Think I need to have a couple days off before my next long run or PB attempt.

Although this route is part of the marathon route I run around here and some ridiculous elevation in places, think I'd be holding a low 4:30s pace on a 30k on a flat route.

Great Eastern half marathon I've got in about 7 weeks and aiming for another PB but that's gonna be tough 😂

Treated myself to a pair of EVO SLs on the recommendation of many in this thread today. Took them out for a spin this evening and very impressed, a lovely ride.

Unfortunately my Novablast 5s have died at 500km - would have expected a little more out of them but I do have a tendency to run flat footed. Difference when getting a new pair is palpable.

Hope you runners don’t mind me posting this on this thread.

The page is live… one final push. 🖤🩵

I’ve officially signed up for my fourth and final Prostate United  challenge, 5km every day throughout October for Prostate Cancer UK

The support over the last three years has been incredible, helping us raise more than £13,000. This year, I’d love to finish the journey by taking that beyond £20,000.

At 52, I’m not sure my legs will thank me for another 155km in October… but some things are worth the aches and pains! 😂

As with every year I will be proudly representing team Leicester City Football Club

If you can spare a few pounds, share the page or simply help spread the message, it would genuinely mean a lot.

One last October. Let’s make it count. 💙🏃‍♂️

I've had a couple of pairs of EVO SLs over the past year or so and really enjoyed running in them, but I do think they have a tendency to cause injury if you're prone to certain injuries. Just as a heads up!

I suffer from achilles tendonitis and I think the soft mid-foot doesn't do my any favours, but if you're not particularly prone to anything like that or plantar fasciitis etc then you'll probably be fine.

Rotating between two or three pairs (budget depending, of course) is definitely the best route. A slow/recovery shoe, a race shoe, and an allrounder.

I’ve ran about 25 miles over Friday to Sunday. Woken up with huge pain in right thigh, from hip to knee. So painful I had to work from home today. Ibuprofen seems to have got ridden of most of thigh pain but knee feels very odd- like it needs to be constantly clicked and isn’t properly put together. Anyone had similar?

Sounds like your IT band which is the tendon that runs from your hip to your knee. I’ve had an issue before when I’ve massively upped the mileage but the pain was in my knee.

How many miles a week were you doing before this?

I average between 30-35 miles a week. But I have put on some timber recently.

I googled your suggestion and that makes sense. Thankfully there are some good suggestions on stretches and with a bit of a rest, I can avoid forking out for physio. Thanks.

Yeah, buy yourself some resistance bands if you haven’t got any. I could feel the instant difference stretching with them made.

The weight loss and consistency beginning to see results now

A couple of minutes off a 5k route and then a 15k route.

Might give it full beans around a park run this Saturday

Stupid twat left it too late to book a spot in the Robin Hood Half on 27th Sep. Anyone ever done Shrewsbury Half? Same day and itching to get one in 2 weeks before Leicester.

Cheltenham is the weekend before and a decent course. A little spenny, though!

Went out for a 10k yesterday and it pissed it down. Was lovely.

Feel as though I can’t start thinking about a training plan to head into the winter instead of just ticking over now that the weather has turned.

Can anyone recommend reasonably priced hydration vest for long runs?

The Kiprun ones are pretty cheap but you have to buy the bladder separately but they are cheap on Amazon . Mine has got some wear and tear after about 2 years though.

Back mega early from football and thought **** it I'll go and do a tempo 5k as I'm bored. Had a minor hamstring injury and thought I'll put some pace on it for a test.

Ended up being 19:38, which considering my first k was 4:18 (I always start slow for some reason), I'm pretty happy with that overall as I wasn't really slamming the accelerator down. Apparently my fastest outside an event too.

Ideally would like that speed x4 for the HM I have next month but that might be a tad ambitious, but we'll see

Had a silly target of training to do a sub 1hr 40 half marathon in the remainder of 2026. I feel that 5 weeks out from Leicester Half thst remains somewhat ambitious.

Last week got taught a severe lesson at the required pace but having eased it off to just going sub 5 min per km for a 12km block of a half marathon distance today that it felt hard but achievable to maintain that so I think i'll carry on training as I am and see what happens. A PB of sub 1hr 43 would do me.
