It doesn't look half as bad next weekend, about 20°C and changeable weather as it stands. It's just getting the first half of next week out the way lol

My run is down south and it's predicting 26c on the Saturday. DO I NOT LIKE THAT

parkrun at Clumber Park was perfect this morning! A little warm in places but the shade from the trees and the wind on the way back was spot on.

Not looking forward to tomorrow’s 7 miler - think it’ll be a 5am job otherwise I’ll die.

I love the south as much as anyone brother, I'm in capital city r n admiring Miquel dream brunettes in loose trousers — but you simply reap what you sow booking a run down there imo

Left my run til 7pm tonight to try and have it a bit cooler. Thought it helped mostly but then as soon as you stop and get in the house you realise your absolutely dripping 🤣.

Didn't feel as hot tonight though unlike the day time but still, it can't go on like this can it?

It can 🥵

Over 5k, I don’t find it the best too bad. I did my quickest parkrun of the year on the new Nottingham course, Victoria Embankment. I put down to a house move and having one of midweek runs now hauling up Groby Road is beginning to have an effect

Longer runs, yeah devils work at the moment unless it’s 7am or 7pm

My groin is completely done after my ultra. Played football at KP yesterday and I’m in real pain with any kind of outward movement.

Luckily I can limit that a little bit on shorter runs but it’s going to stop my progress for a while, luckily that coincides with a holiday in a few weeks though.

Sorry to hear about the groin mate, hope it's gets better soon.

But how was it playing yesterday? Hope the heat didn't impact the enjoyment too much

It was class mate but so hot, I felt in worse shape than at any point in my run just 45 mins in haha. Well worth it though, I’ll do it again next year if they do it and hope I can be injury free.

Started running again a couple of weeks ago after not doing so for at least a decade, I’m vastly over weight now and need to get rid of the belly. Decided to take my 8 year old daughter to a 5k park run as she wanted to go with me.

I clocked a rather unspectacular 37 minute time with my daughter running off into the distance on the last straight to beat me by 9 seconds.

we did the same course again a week later and I managed to clock 35 minutes , again with daughter  running off from me at around the halfway point to beat me by 3 minutes.

i used to be able to run a 5k in under 25 minutes fairly easily it’s dangerously worrying how quickly your own health/fitness can deteriorate when you don’t do a bit of exercise every now and then

just need to regain some fitness so I can out run an 8 year old now

Trip her over for taking liberties.

I saw someone out running at about 11.30 this morning and it didn't look like a lot of fun.

I ran in similar heat years ago and the lesson learned from that was that you can re-hydrate all you like but if you don't put those electrolytes back you're going to feel like death, would NOT recommend

No point running in this unless you drink Electrolytes before you run, during your run, take SaltStick chewables (an absolute weapon of a product) during your run and drink electrolytes when you get back. The amount of people that Run and think plain water will sort them out is mental.

If I'm not carrying fluids on a run (which tbf is most of the time) then Saltstick chews are the way forward. They are insanely good. If I'm struggling and I take those, with 5 mins I'm feeling feckin great. Has a far greater impact on me than taking gels etc.

never heard of salt sticks but I’ll check them out.

Electrolite wise, i got some sachets of Pocari sweat from Seoul Plaza in town and they are really tasty.
