-sodapop Posted 6 May 2022 Posted 6 May 2022 Get him in. Great price to quality & potential ratio and plays exactly how we want a right sided forward to play. Plus he's tall which we need more of in the side
Sankey93 Posted 6 May 2022 Posted 6 May 2022 There’s not many championship players these days I’d take a punt on! He’s no better then what we’ve already got either.

I'd say it's the league we ought to be focusing on again, we've missed out on previous targets Bowen and Olise in recent seasons who would have improved us significantly and there are a list of players who have stepped up over the last few years and done brilliantly. 17

Agreed. Some of our more successful signings e.g. Madders and JJ have come from the championship. Obviously he was on loan but it was the making of KDH too. 2
Popular Post ALC Fox Posted 6 May 2022 Popular Post Posted 6 May 2022 Imagine turning your nose up at a Championship player when almost all of our Premier League winning squad were Championship players two years previous. There's talent there. Talent that is dying to get a chance at the top level. 4 1

Olise was always going to make it to the prem and tbf to bowen he’s done brilliant and didn’t think he would. How many strikers have cut it tho from the championship to the prem ?
Sankey93 Posted 6 May 2022 Posted 6 May 2022 It would be a huge gamble buying this lad. We would have to fork out 15/20 million anorl! This would be a bit chunk of our money and let’s be honest he’s not better then what we’ve got to it’s pointless imo

Agreed, the gap between top championship teams and some of the premier league teams isn't as big as it once was. Rarely championship players used to be internationals. 1

Vardy, wood, bamford, watkins, Toney, abraham, wilson, ulloa, antonio, jota… just to name a few… i think they’ve all done fine. it doesn’t matter what league they come from if they’re good enough and that based on scouting not just number of goals etc. In fact, the championship is the league where a player stepping up is least likely to fail from. Vardy is one in a million. wood isn’t brilliant is he. Watkins is average. Toney is ok tbf. Abraham was a Chelsea youth player. ulloa ( loved him ) didn’t score boat loads. antonio fair play he’s a beast. Jota is a winger.

Ric Flair Posted 7 May 2022 Posted 7 May 2022 Others that have done alright (this season aside) Ings, Calvert-Lewin, Callum Wilson

The prem is so far ahead of the championship now is a joke. Majority of the teams come straight back down or maybe survive a season then go down. I just think we should be looking else where! Obviously there’s going to be some gems in there but risky these days.

We're looking at making 1 or 2 additions of younger players from that division to come in to a squad with better players. 2
FOXYTALK Posted 7 May 2022 Posted 7 May 2022 If Liverpool can apparently get Carvalho for 7 mil. We should put in something similar.

I agree sometimes you can add 1 or 2 but it’s a gamble tbf any signing is but even more so from lower divisions. Your likes of palace, Southampton, Burnley and Brighton get there players from the championship we should be looking at a better players that can make out first 11 better. Get rid of the deadwood maybe 7/8 of them and get 3/4 very good players to improve our 11 otherwise we could fall way behind the top teams

Vardy- next season will determine if he still has it, injuries and the way we play does not help him. Daka - the verdict is not in as yet if we have a future star on our hands, he is struggling to assimilate his style with the existing players. Piroe is the type of player that we need, as a striker who can link the play and very much like Nacho, but with consistency. If we sold Nacho and brought in CDK along with this player and Daka and Vardy for variety, we would have a great intelligent forward line up.
