Bloody hell that’s a deeply concerning stat

And for anyone who ‘doesn’t believe’ in the correlation between XG and reality….   It’s an incredibly enlightening stat…. This just shows me how efficient our strikers have been at times…. And (for instance) Brentford have been relatively profligate

We end the season hoping we aren't relegated - that's shocking and we can't blame injuries, VAR or congestion.  Too many games have been played with apathy, comical defending and some quite baffling lineups/substitutions/formations.  These are all to do with management - I'm not sure where I am on BR but he has to shoulder the responsibility for the season and it has been below par.

We've moved to a more possession based style of play but without the cutting edge to get use that possession to create chances.  Our wide play does not seem to create chances with players beating their defender and cutting balls back in - a highly probably way of scoring.

Vardy's unavailability isn't the issue as more possession and his age means we are moving away from his strength - Kelechi and Patson are different and need chances created for them in the way Vardy does not.

Defensively we have been shambolic and I include Kasper in that as well as our lack of centre back depth - if anything Kasper's retreated to his line even more gifting chances at every set piece.

I think we have real problems going into next season - something needs to be enlivened at the Club, not just new signings (new signings of late have not been good either).

I can't be arsed to get on bus, train and walk to go to the Norwich game, that's how meh I'm feeling at the moment.

I agree with most of the post apart from the bits in bold.

Yeah we can't blame injuries/VAR/fixture congestion fully, but they are and have been in a factor in how things pan out. A win at Brighton, Fofana fit for most of the season, more space between games without COVID postponements all do play a part.

To ignore that, in my opinion, is quite naive.

As for not travelling, fair enough if its for economic reasons, however I don't comprehend this way of support. Seems like the equivalent of you'll only go to games if we're a) successful and b) entertaining, or both.

That's not really what support should be, right? We can't always have it good, but we can always be there for the team and the players, even if we're not the biggest fan of the manager.

Agree that it is deeply concerning. There are multiple versions of this and most seem to suggest we should have been in a relegation battle this season. There are definite issues with xG but it does paint a broad picture and this one passes the sniff test for me - just watch us lately. We create so little in terms of chances and concede shots in our box at will. It's a toxic mix.

And when did that happen? It hasn't, we need a deeper squad.

I mean, things look pretty promising to me when we've got KDH, Maddison, Fofana and Daka as the start of a spine to rebuild this team, then Barnes, JJ and Iheanacho in support. Ndidi to come back from injury, too, whilst Thomas has gained valuable experience this season. Add a couple to that and it looks an exciting team. I'm looking forward to seeing how we do next season without a European campaign (as much as I'd rather be in Europe) hindering our league form/player availability.

Genuinely admire your optimism :)

Just feeling a bit hacked off but yeah I'll end up hauling my ass to the ground on Wednesday in all probability.  I'm far from a fair weather fan (been going since early 70's) but I genuinely feel we end the season on a downward trajectory with no clear sign of a way back up.  I guess that's what summer's are for though so BR in/out I look forward to a rebuild and genuine reset,

We need to stop mourning a season that was doomed before it even started and start looking at next season as an opportunity. No injuries bleeding over, a chance to rebuild the squad with some decent signings, and no Europe to distract us. That’s why I’m still Rodgers in, I really believe we could have a fantastic season.

I like the positivity, he has no excuses next season though if he is allowed a 'rebuild' brings in the players he wants,  has a full pre season and no injuries going into next season he has no reason to moan and throw people under the bus, like you say no Europe so we can fully focus on the Prem and cup competitions.

We do have reasons to be optimistic imo believe it or not! for me personally if we see no signs of change or improvement in the first part of next season then I think we are left with no choice.

I'm not sure Vichai would be as lenient as Top in regards to the situation at the minute but maybe that's unfair to say.

When I think of the optimism all around when we were 3-0 up against Villareal in pre season, I actually find it sad that the season has turned out as it has. The past 7 games (nil wins) have been abject performances, despite a nearly cleared up injury list. Our style of football is AWFUL to watch and, if taken into next season, will see us relegated.

......and don't get me started on the farce that is Kasper's corner regime....

I wouldn't say I'm Rodgers in any more. If he goes, he goes. If not, so be it.

But I do share the optimism that next season could bring. Mentioned the other day I think we'll benefit from a less intense schedule, hopefully no Covid re-arrangements and a consistent squad selection. I don't even think a rebuild is necessarily needed. We have a good spine to the team. Fofana, Maddison, KDH, Daka/Iheanacho.

If we can keep the leaders in/around the squad then I'll be happy - Kasper, Evans, Albrighton, Vardy. They've been through it all pretty much.

Maybe it's my naivety but I do think our fortunes will change next season, and that's whether Rodgers is here or not.

It’s been an awful season in the premier league due mainly to injuries to key players and some underperforming players but we had a bloody good run in Europe and yes the semi didn’t live up to our expectations but we made it into a European Semi Final for the first time in our history never know next time we might reach the final ?

We’ve been spoiled with our amazing results in the last few seasons which have been amazing But some on here are either too young or have just forgotten that 14 years ago we were relegated to Division 1 under Ian Holloway, then taking til 2014 to return to the premier league the great escape of 2014/15 then an amazing Champions of England 2015/16 Champions league quarter finalists the following season then not so ecstatic season following up til a few  top 5 finishes an Fa Cup win a charity shield win, So yes a rollercoaster of emotions being a fan of  Leicester City the team I will always love and follow through thick and thin even when they frustrate the bloody bejesus out of us 4 games left of this frustrating season so let’s keep getting behind the lads and be the 12th man how we used to be making so much noise it hit the Richter scale !

So yep let’s write this season off hoping Top can give Brendan a decent fund to rebuild and bring in a few quality players let go some not up to this level and hope we can get back to our best next season !
