Very disappointed in the decision to allow Soumare to leave. I can only imagine that he’s off the field troubles aren’t resolved by him staying. More money wasted by the club.

A bit of a shame about Soumare for me

Had to play in a few different roles in midfield, whilst trying to adapt to a new country and league and having personal issues off the field

Hopefully with how well regarded he was after his time at Lille we can try and get most of our money back

Rodgers isn't having him which is a shame as there's many at the club who think there's a player there.

Which does make me worry a little bit about this “restructure”… should we be chasing players like Eriksen, who will have high wage demands for a fairly short football lifespan, over a player with potential who needs a little TLC?

Think it's more that Soumare just hasn't settled. Hes had personal issues.

It's not.

Wasn’t there rumours that both Vestegaard and Soumare weren’t BR signings, if so could make sense on them leaving already.

Vesty was definitely a Rodgers signing. He made the call on that one so I’m told.

Insane if true the bloke has no mobility at all, which seems to be important for Rodgers.

Vestergaard most definitely is, but Soumare may well not be. Here lies the issue though, the club cannot allow Rodgers to recruit his own players and at the same time Rodgers then needs to work well with the players the club does recruit. There needs to be joined up thinking and it's a bit of a grey area on where the finger is being pointed for last summers disasters.

Rodgers seems more than happy to recognise when signings haven't worked out and either not play them or get rid, it's actually quite alarming how many this has happened to under him, not to mention the loan signings not then signed permanently.

Praet

Perez

Bennett

Ünder

Vestergaard

Soumare

Whose in charge of recruitment now Congerton has left?

Callum Smithson and Rudkin temporarily doing it whilst we try to get Martyn Glover in from Southampton. Smithson is highly thought of, personally think he should be promoted full time.

Never heard of Smithson. How long has Glover been at Southampton for would be intrigued to see his track record…

Rudkin needs to stay clear of transfers 😂🙈

Rudkin just hammers out the deals. As far as I’m aware he doesn’t go out looking for the players.

Shame it didn't work out. Had hopes he would come good but I have the feeling he never really settled here which is probably a big factor in wanting to leave.

Probably go back to France.

I have no idea if this is the case but you can imagine BR being the type of manager that if he doesn't agree with a signing he just won't play them. Aka Soumare.

I would argue he gave Soumare opportunities especially towards the beginning of the season.

We just couldn’t afford to be patient with him by keeping him in the line up. I think the way KDH took to the league took everyone by surprise despite how highly rated he was. Which also goes against Soumare.

Well, we want players in  so the money and wages have to come from somewhere.  Can’t just add a bunch of players- not got the wage budget for it even if they are freebies.

But it is worth noting that we haven’t transfer listed them, we’ve just said we’d listen to offers. I doubt there’s huge movement behind the scenes to unsettled them and force them to move on./

Did we sign him (Soumare) and expect him alongside Patson to take a season to acclimatise to the PL ? We’ve already decided that is too much work and looking to sell. We’ve been unbelievably poor in our recruitment last summer. Nearly as bad as 2016.
