Largely because he says it after he's played an experienced and older squad.

 

Just be balanced with this defense of Rodgers. He's got a point TO a point. But when he fields a team rife with experience and then claims it's a young squad it's patently a lie. If he played the youths and then said it then it's palatable but when he plays the experienced pros and complains it's insulting.

Maybe when he say it when we're playing with an experienced team he means he hasn't got experience in depth to choose from so is overworking his experienced players because the squad on balance is young. Who knows?

brendan is a master of saying whatever he needs to in order to keep ‘brand brendan’ on track …

 

Tbh, that’s what irks some people more than the performances - it happened at liverpool when he was insistent that they didn’t have defensive issues when it was clear that they did.  And here ref set plays.

 

Maybe he has his reasons away from his arrogance but it’s something he could change to get fans onside.

The problem is that Vardy makes our attack tick and Evans makes the defence tick and you don't have to look too far on the graphic to find them... 

 

This season has proved we have a very good first 11 when fit, but there of a bit of a drop off when it comes to the rest of the squad... youthful or not.

 

Makes me think we have room to recruit 1 or 2 experienced heads to bridge the gap: as long as they dont come from Southampton!

In my experience all managers talk utter patronising excuse making bollocks when they're on a poor run of games. One or two might explode after a single bad performance but that's it. They're basically defending their job.

 

In fact all post match manager chat win or lose is generally cliché ridden all been said before bollocks which is why I generally take no notice of it

I agree 100% and have said on here previously the same.

 

My only gripe is that Rodgers does more “PR mode” than others whilst previously you got the “We’ll work harder at training” cliche.

 

A minor gripe in the scheme of things and he could say pretty much what he likes if got us purring like the majority of 19/20 season if being honest.
