Wore a City shirt at the Euro 2016 in Lens and the Croatians loved us. Locals would shout “Mahrez” and two Villa fans were adamant that we’d go down straight after.

Can’t believe they were almost right.

Returning from Cyprus in May, the flight was from Paphos to East Midlands. I bought some duty free booze and duly presented my boarding pass to the lady at the checkout. "Ah, East Midlands... Nottingham Forest" she gleefully said.

Looks like the glory days are over for Leicester fans holidaying in Cyprus.

After we won the league cup my mrs who worked in the clubs ticket office was wearing a Coca Cola shirt with Leicester city champions on it. We were on safari in Kenya near Voi and had stopped at a gift shop. She swapped the shirt for 2 carved elephants with the owner.

Is it those elephants that now man the phone lines?

In Rhodes at the moment. My son got a Leicester City shout from some old guy outside a supermarket. And I got one at the pool bar today from the barman

I was in Miami a couple of months ago and at breakfast in an expensive swim town hotel was talking to the staff, all if whom were Hispanic and they had a good knowledge of the Premier League and knew quite a lot about LCFC, although hadn’t followed the Europa Conference League very closely! Hardly a surprise.

What was your reaction? I'd have done the puzzled look and shrugged making out that I had no idea what she was on about. Or told her that was an insult and that you are very offended.

Or nutted her.

Yesterday in town I saw a young lad walking with his Dad wearing a Scunthorpe shirt, and I had to do a bit of a double take, because it's just something unusual you don't expect to see. Nice to see, especially with the mess their club is in at the moment, but a surprise nonetheless.

Got me thinking back and recalling that I used to feel that way wearing my Leicester top back in League One / pre-promotion days. I remember being really taken aback while wearing it down in London back in 2010 or 11, and some hipster on a bike passing by and shouting 'Go Leicester' at me. lol

Now it's got to the point where I've been able to have conversations with complete strangers in other countries and they all know the ins and outs of our team and star players. It still feels no less surreal than it did to be recognised in the wake of the League win to be told by a Canadian that 'Maddison is a baller'. lol

Out in Greece and been wearing my Leicester shirt. I have been surprised by how many shop owners / various people have been so fascinated by us. It really seems that Jamie Vardy is a global superstar.

I have also seen a few shirts and got talking to other City fans. When you go abroad, you do realise how quickly we have risen to fame. Leicester has very much been put on the map in recent years.

Was in a bar in Tbilisi, Georgia, watching Leicester/Newcastle in the great escape year. 10 minutes into the game, a guy walks in a full leicester shirt and a city cap, and says in American accent not missed a goal yet. Turns out he supported city since the 1980s from Ohio and was in tbilisi for business. He sat with us, we got absolutely loaded and celebrating every goal with him it was like with a guy from my home town. He gave me his details, but was so wrecked on there local drink chacha I lost it, but always thought of him celebrating the title  in Ohio 😅

This is a great story.

I went to Thailand in 2017 and we ended up in a remote hideaway resort miles away from nowhere on the southern tip of Koh Lanta.

The first day I went to dinner wearing a replica kit and before I had chance to sit down the barman came running over shouting "JAMIE VARDY! JAMIE VARDY!" (he didn't speak much English and this subsequently happened every time I saw him for the entire week we were there. I basically became known as Jamie Vardy.)

Anyway, he said something in Thai and ran off, then as we were finishing dinner an older man appeared and asked to join us at the table. He had with him a beautiful chocolate labrador and a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue Label which he handed to me.

He introduced himself as the owner of the resort and went on to explain that he knew the Srivaddhanaprabha family well, and that the dog which was called "Choco" was actually given to him by Vichai from his own litter of labrador puppies.

Clearly a rarity that a Leicester supporter was at the resort, we were treated like royalty and partied with the owner every night. Got through many bottles of Blue Label and lots of fresh oysters on the house. :scarf:

The title win changed perceptions of us, it went from me explains to everyone who we are, and trying to describe where Leicester is in England. To everyone knowing who we are, I’ve even been called a glory supporter a couple of times 😂.

Standing with less than 10,000 at Filbert St all those years ago, I never imagined I could be called a glory supporter.

It find it annoying when I get called a glory supporter since our title win. I live in the North West so people just assume I started supporting leicester in 2016. I just tell them my first ever leicester game was in 1997 when we drew 3-3 with Arsenal and Bergkamp put in the best live performance I've ever seen. Another thing that annoys me is when fans of other clubs seem to know so much about our players yet know nothing. I hear alot about how Maddison has a bad attitude and he's not good in the dressing room and he seems like a bell end etc. Its amazing how the media can make people's minds up about a player without them actually having a clue. I suppose we all have out opinions that may be right or wrong about other teams players as well. My best mate is an Everton fan and was devastated when Richarlison went and I just said he's over rated and an absolute nob head. Not an opinion that is shared by any Everton fans 😂
