This is a decent watch actually.

It sort of also makes you realise we’ve changed philosophy as a club in the last three and a half years and we need to go back to what made us successful.

Which surely means we have to ditch this tiki taka possession based style? The majority of teams in the league are now playing direct, high tempo football similar to our 15/16 season.

Sometimes managers can change their style and adapt of course, but surely we can’t bring in another possession based manager.

Voted in this time.

Loving the drama and we could genuinely have fan v manager pitchside arguments soon.

He definitely doesn't have a 'fvck off and die' moment in him.

I’m Rodgers in (I think, it’s kind of confusing)…

But to have stats like we did last night is not acceptable for our football club. I am starting to wonder whether all the negativity around the place can be lifted with a change of manager. These days managers often have 3-4 year cycles, and the stability of a long term manager is a thing of the past.

I argued some time ago that we are beginning to see a true Rodgers side after the team and nucleus of the players he inherited have moved on. But it concerns me he never got to the 4 year stage at Liverpool, Celtic or any club. We are in unchartered territory and it’s starting to feel a little bit how his Liverpool reign ended - who were a defensive shambles. I’m sure he would argue injuries derailed last season etc, and he’ll blame a lack of transfers this time. Does he have it in him to turn it around? And my definition of ‘turn it around’ at this moment in time is finishing lower mid table.

Have I just talked myself around to Rodgers out?

I hate him more now than I ever did Puel.

Really? That was much worse than this I’d argue. He had no hope of turning it around, though I didn’t like how he was portrayed. Rodgers has had sticky spells before here and managed to turn it around, but serious questions marks as to whether he can do it now. So much negativity around the whole club.

Tried to defend you at almost every turn Bren

No longer, how can a team be so low on drive, so empty of passion, it’s a slow death and as much as I did not think relegation was on the cards…

How  do we reset with still here and no changes in personnel?

Maybe we can, but do not see it. :surrender:

Hold on,

Same by a long way.

Peter Taylor levels for me

Hold on @Simmo86!! Peter Taylor levels may be a tad extreme!

Rodgers is still one of our best ever Managers statistically; albeit without a question either he goes, or we have a squad refresh.

Unfortunately we’re not a Manchester United, Arsenal or Chelsea. So Brendan has reached the end of his time here.

Just him as a person, the way he constantly tried to make us feel lucky to have him and now it’s not going well absolutely dragging us through the mud.

Can’t stand the man.

I can see that if I’m honest.

Most of the fan base haven’t warmed to him at all. I felt similar about Holloway and kinda similar about Pearson in a way, albeit Taylor is on another level of WTf!

Once he’s gone and the dust is settled I’ll probably look at him differently but with regency bias he goes to the top of the list  lol

I reluctantly voted out, we have been poor for a long time.

most of last season he had to make a sub at half time, that tells you his initial team selection and tactics were wrong.. His team selection against Roma away was way off and left himself no where to go.

Losing late goals and capitulating as often as we do is getting beyond a joke, the only reason I’m hesitant is that there is no one else that I think could take us forward.

How does the FA Cup help us now? it’s history yes wonderful to win but it doesn’t do anything for our current situation and predicament.

Spot on!

Thats the same answer I give to people at work who bleat on about our  x2 top 5 finishes and our FA Cup win.

"Correct, thats what he did, BUT, he's not doing it now!,  and now what's important"  is my general 'rant'.

Still go back and watch the 15/16 season more often that I should. Of course it matters, don’t be so dismissive.

Puel clearly had a directive to rebuild the squad and start moving on the older players and bring fresh faces in. The football was terrible and he went about it awfully with some players though.

Haha when I read your post, a large part of me thought ‘are we at that stage again?’

Puel had taken over an absolute shambles of a squad that could barely string 2 passes together and basically built the majority of the team that Rodgers is using.

Unless you literally only pay attention to what is happening on the pitch, although that argument doesn't stand as he's basically playing the same football, but he's not stuck with a Mendy/Ndidi double pivot.

Rodgers is leaving this club in a much worse position than he took it over in. Too many bang average players on huge wages, very little young talent developed, if any. Luke Thomas hasn't really improved and KDH was ready made. You could argue Barnes has developed under him although again, he was there or there abouts and was just missing the composure in front of goal.

The next manager has a big job removing a lot of the dead wood and trying to put together a new team.

If you're looking at it through a very basic lens that I'd expect non Leicester fans to look through, you'd be forgiven for thinking he had been a marked improvement. Start scratching the surface and put everything into context, it's really not that great a job he's done.

I can see myself agreeing with a lot of what you say, but I don’t think it’s fair to blame Rodgers for the wage structure - I wouldn’t have thought he has any input into contract negotiations. He’ll have some input into recruitment though I’m sure.

I don't think Happy Fox is.

Their post is correct.  Winning the FA Cup was wonderfull and having our names in the history books will never be altered. The same goes with your comment about winning the 15/16, and rewatching it, I too think back to it at times and we should be extremely proud of the achievement. But what happened in the past, is the past, they're our achievements and we get to keep them, but what we did then we sadly aren't doing it now. And now is the important part.
