This is what I was talking about earlier about subverting the very idea of truth and getting so many people to go along with it. Not only is it plain dickish, in certain matters it's dangerous, perhaps even fatal for other people.

If that were true (the diehards being enough to swing things), then he would still be President now because he would have won in 2020.

Of course, the threat is still very real, but it isn't in any way inevitable.

Feel like Johnson could have fought this as an MP but quitting he gets to claim it was all a plot against him and his claims face no scrutiny. And his loyal supporters will believe his claims and that will serve to get him backing in whatever his end game is.
