Something I meant to mention a while back but which has been getting on my nerves more and more - who on earth is still singing "Blue Flag Flying High?"

You're idiots. Look at the table. We've been "mastered" for at least two years at this point, and were humbled on our own turf earlier in the season. Right now it couldn't be less self-aware. Embarrasing hearing it sung by anyone right now. At the very least suck it up and change Forest to Derby until the day we're above them in the pyramid again.

I think everyone can see the irony in the "greatest team" chant, like you said everybody sings it up and down the country, regardless of history or their place in the pyramid - but nobody is singing blue flag ironically. They sing it because we hate Forest, not out of some weird form of self-deprecation. They probably haven't taken even a second to think about what they're singing.

And the reality is, some people are thick as pig shit and haven't looked at the table, or recent results. Sing that "we hate Nottingham", fine, sing "build a bonfire", fine, but don't persist with the direct comparison while we're in this embarrassing position. I get new wrinkles from cringing every time I hear it. Unless by some miracle we win at the City Ground in the spring, we shouldn't be hearing it again for a while.

We're now at page 426 on how to improve the crap atmosphere at games and we've still got the chant police out in force. Don't sing this, don't sing that. Jog on.

think we should let OntarioFox let us know what we can/ cant sing- get his sign of approval and whats still appropriate:thumbup:

Ha, well we'll agree to disagree on your first point but the guy that cries the most about UFS would blow his top that you've compared the SK1 drummer to Keith Moon lol

Drums are akin to clappers. Proper wank.

Fair enough, I can see I seem to be in the minority of hating blue flag at this point in time. Carry on by all means, I'll keep my mouth shut until the chant after it because it's just embarrasing. Unlike some others here, I'm happy to call Rudkin a C-Nut though. lol

Issue is, I can't be the only one that thinks it's a ridiculous one to sing when we're in the position we're in - if I don't want to sing it as someone who actually bothers to contribute to the atmosphere even when those around me can't be bothered, you're really going to struggle to get fence-sitters up for it. It'd be wise to use that energy for something that's going to get more buy-in, because it snowballs and you'll have fence-sitters joining in when they hear it around them.

I thought the timing of that chant was/is off, but guess I was just grateful that it created some atmosphere at least.

Literally anything else lol

Vichai Had a dream, Ring Of Fire, C'mon Leicester Boys, LCFC The Boys In Blue, When You're Smiling, even just Blue Army, or a bit of Leicester, Leicester, Leicester.

We have so many songs, even about Forest (I mentioned 2 in my last comment). But sorry, I'm not joining in with the one that somehow suggests we're not being absolutely humbled by our local rivals right now.

But people don't join in with any of those either.

fair point :nigel: I guess the point i was trying to make is that if we want the atmosphere to be its best, we'd be better to stick to songs that might just get fence-sitters on board.

And if I'm having second-thoughts about certain ones as one of the people who regularly looks like a twat singing when everyone around me can't be arsed, maybe those ones aren't the right ones to choose.

Sidepoint, but the rich tea brigade were more than happy to join in when Ruud made that pathetic double-sub on Saturday! Maybe that's the answer lol

Id rather have had our last 15 years than theirs. Finishing top 7 this season for them won't change a thing.

Technically everything we talk about on here is in the past if you want to be pedantic.

Few years ago Vs 40 odd years ago and doing absolutely **** all but creaming over Brian Clough is a bit different.

Think your getting your knickers in a twist.

Most if not all football songs if you depict them like you have are either historically inaccurate, factually incorrect or just plain stupid.

Our atmosphere, and it seems at most stadiums too, is sh1t.

We are lucky to get ANY songs sang but you want to ban the ones that ARE just about sang because you don't like them or deem them one of the above criteria!

Maybe if you just goto the toilet when a song is sung that you don't like or approve of, i'm sure by the time you return it will be all back to the normal ssssshhhh:thumbup:

Just be nice if you stuck up for your own club as much as you do Forest after 1 year of them having a decent finish for once.

There's such a strange self deprecating nature about fans such as yourself about Leicester. You also seem extremely argumentative.

Totally agree, and I'm prepared to accept a couple of relegations from the PL  as the price we have to pay for the PL / FA Cup success.

The board have made mistakes but we were extremely unlucking with the timing of covid  when we were challanging for champions league qualification and our owners business being airport duty free shops.

How did COVID impact on the owner's business impact our PSR failings ? Or better still how did it impact our signing of Vestegaard and Bertrand on £80k contracts each ? New strand ?

Times have moved on.

Drum in UFS area is horrendous too. It gives me a headache in SK2 so goodness knows what it does to people around it. Constantly thudding away with no let up. Give us a break now and then.

As an old git who has gone down the City since the seventies, loads of songs have been sung that bear no relation to how shite we are at the time  or with any real meaning or truth.

There really isn't any point in taking them seriously.

They are just songs, they don't mean anything literally.

I mean I'm sure Barcelona Real Madrid could have made a mighty bid, at pretty much anytime in our history, , and despite our song saying otherwise, they would indeed have beaten the Leicester.

Just as singing,  Forest sing I don't know why, cos after the match they're gonna die, really didn't mean there was the intention of anyone killing anyone after the game.
