Yep. Carried by residue from an improbable ****up and an ambitious young manager.

An ambitious young manager eh - no wonder he had no interest in sticking around this place.

I increasingly agree that people like him and Whelan are only in post because they'll lift the lid on a lot of dirt if not. It's the most plausible situation really.

Whelan is in the post because she has a long connection with King Power. Until recently I'd say she's done a pretty decent job and was very well respected outside the club. She was the person who eventually secured 80 million out of United for  Harry.

Now I think her course here is run. New and fresh ideas in management are required. Whether that happens or not remains to be seen.

Rudkin is a different situation and should have gone long before. In fact I'd have sacked him after that ridiculous situation with Silva where we missed the transfer deadline by 14 seconds or whatever it was.

Trouble is just removing him doesn't remove the issues we now have of a poor squad and what might turn out to be an incompetent manager.

The loss of Vichai has turned out to be the club's greatest loss of all.

I don't think Rudkin goes without very significant pressure from the fans. I'm talking walkouts, boycotts, turning up at the training ground and pitch invasions. All the stuff that would draw negative publicity to the club and make Top's bottom lip tremble.

Unfortunately, we're such a passive fanbase it's unreal. We just go from game to game in blind hope that it might improve and, when it doesn't, hope it does next week. Just as happened in 22-23.

We seem to have a set of fans who think that we're building up to a 14-15 Great Escape all over again and we'll be fine, but there are absolutely zero signs of that. In 14-15, we frequently played well. The fight, heart, identity and effort could be seen a mile off. Fans of teams who played us couldn't fathom how we were bottom. Now that they can't fathom how we aren't.

A reality check is needed from top (literally) to bottom, owner to Margaret and Jeff sat in the West Stand. It isn't improving without radical action.

Top is weak. Too weak to chop Rudkin, who we all know is the main reason for the ongoing failure. He is clearly out of his depth. He's got it wrong too often, he's got to be ousted somehow.

Lineker slagging Rudkin off on his podcast, saying he fell in to the job and that Steve Walsh was annoyed he didn’t get DOF

Good. Feels like people are waking up to it now.

I guess that's severed any remaining ties he has with the club hierarchy then!

Probably strengthened them with some club employees.

Most sensible thing that’s come out of Lineker’s mouth in over 10 years

Glad lineker is actually showing some genuine interest in off fields issues for once.

Yes, but.....

He mentions Rodgers is (was?) an elite coach! Well, Rodgers wasn't very professional the way he threw his toys out the pram and effectively drove us to relegation.

We are still seeing the ramifications and consequences of that part of his tenure. Yes, Top should have got rid much, much earlier but the very mention of BR makes me squirm, even though he delivered the FA Cup.

There’s no doubt Rogers handled that season terribly but the problems were much bigger than Rodgers imo, as we see now.

He’s spent years saying nothing to try and get in KP’s good books after he fell out with them when they first came in

(Over renaming his lounge in the west stand of all things)

Shows which way the winds blowing in terms of KP in football circles if he’s prepared to speak out now… and no longer feels the need to suck up

The club is a mess, and it was evident in the wolves game. Ruud doesn't have his own coaching staff, fans rightly frustrated, atmosphere in the stadium is toxic, some players playing who should have gone long ago and not given new contracts. (Vards excluded, obviously)

This is what happens when you rest on your laurels, remember the good old days, don't move forward. The board are stinking the place out, the structure of the club is wrong, the players are over paid so we can't move them on, the investment is wrong, the dealings in the sponsorship is wrong. Decision after decision is wrong. It's stale, it stinks and the culture isn't changing. Too much of the club is ran on loyalty and not performance and ability.

Why oh why weren't significant changes made after relegation the first time?? That should have rang alarm bells. That team should NEVER have got relegated. So many poor choices and yet those same people are still in position and it's happening again!

I'm so frustrated with this club and the negligence that has been shown. There's no hiding anymore, yet they continue. We need new direction and a higher level of competency at this club, otherwise we'll be a Blackburn, Hull, Coventry team is no time flat. Watching Forest in Europe while we are 13th in the championship with Ayew as our main striker

We are relegated, I'm convinced after that horrendous performance on Sunday, and that is on the board

Something has to give and soon, yes Ruud made some mistakes yesterday no doubt, but look at the squad he is currently managing, we have players like Ward, Choudhury, Thomas, Coady, Vestergaard , Soumare, Iversen, McAteet, Kristiansen, that is 9 of a 25 man squad that have been deemed surplus to requirements at some stage by the club, most of which. were either bench warmers in the championship or were sent on loan in the hope of moving them on. We have then compounded it by signing utter guff like Ayew, BDCR, Skipp, and Eduoard

The inability of a certain person to move on our squad payers is pathetic and continues to massively hamstrung our ability to be competitive and plays a heavy burden on PSR compliance.

We then have a bloated academy full of players who barely go out on loan to aid their development or to help assess if they can make it, instead they hang around playing academy football until they are 21/22 and then drift away. We have players in their now who have not one chance of making it at the club.

We are on our arse at right back at the moment, a few years ago Joe Wormleighton was being touted as one to watch, he is still here and yet he hasn’t made an appearance in anger for the 1sf team, surely we have to pushing the talented 18 years old out on loan and fast tracking their development and making them 1st team ready. I really struggle to see what our policy is as it seems all over the show and we just seem to be stockpiling academy players with no clear direction of how we develop or them or when to cut our losses and release.

We really do need some fresh blood, new ideas and impetus at Football Director level as the club is currently stagnating under the current incumbent.

This isn't all a result of some sort of redemption arc either - they're involved again because the team has declined and the standards are low.

This squad is rubbish and I want anyone involved in that being the case booted as far from the club as possible. Which is the main argument for why Cooper did have to go.

Rudkin still being in post is so laughable that you can only suspect it is some sort of dirt he does have on the owner.
