It's not like he's going to say, 'I'm flipping useless, soz'

I think it's a pretty decent statement to be fair. In years to come he will be remembered for winning the FA Cup. Although right now he's probably the most hated man in Leicester.

It is a decent statement but it's clearly not meant for us as a fan base. This is for the wider footballing community who probably haven't watched us every week and aren't aware that he's contradicted 90% of the sentiment in that statement with his post-match comments for the last 18 months.

Pretty much. As always, people forget.

I doubt I'll ever see us qualify for Europe through league position and win the FA Cup in the same season again.

Most manager statements are. Managers don't come out and say "ah well I was shit, no club touch me in the future".

When it comes to choosing the right words to disarm hacks and the media and convince them of his heroic attempts to succeed against all the odds , Brendan Rodgers is one of the greatest ever. His true vocation is politics not football , something he was never very good at anyway.

It's a magnanimous statement. What would you have preferred him to say? 'I've been shit for months and I'd like to apologise for being shit to every single LCFC fan.'
He lost the dressing room. He lost the fans. He's made a decent statement. Move on.

That's my point it's pure fluff.

Nice words, just a shame for the last 18 months he’s been using every excuse other than taking any real responsibility for the mess we are in.
Truly those first couple of seasons were magical and we genuinely looked like we were building something special, but the last 18 months were pathetic and absolutely no idea where it came from. Sure, ideally we could have replaced the minimal amount of players we did lose better, and that’s a problem that goes wider than just the manager, but even with spending a lot of money on poorer players than they replaced, for 18+ months we have turned the quality players that got us into Europe into championship fodder, there’s just no excuses for players like Ndidi now looking more like Sol Bamba, and players like Soyuncu who is on the verge of signing for Atletico Madrid rotting on the bench.

The FA Cup and Community shield were also magic. A real shame it turned sour so quickly, but just like Ranieri we 100% would have gone down with BR and our financial status would have been far worse now than it was a few years ago if we did.

We have to roll the dice. Wish him all the best as he did deliver us fantastic successes for a club of our stature, but Honestly by the end very glad to see him go,  his personality just grated me every time he made an excuse.

Agree with every word

Better ask LMA to stop putting statements out then.

Genuine statement. People forget very quickly. Wasn't been backed with additional resources to maintain that level and had to cope with horrendous injuries in the squad and losing quality players. Honestly can't see an improvement happening and will lose tonight and think it's Championship  football next season. Tgere just isn't the quality on the team anymore.

Personally I'm sad to see him go. I think we'll see him have great success somewhere else at some point. Maybe our players just didn't have the technical skills required for the tasks that he was requesting. I'm sure a lot of people disagree with that !

I don't have any bitterness towards him, it just didn't work out.

Time will tell.

"I would also like to make a special mention to my coaches Chris Davies and Glen Driscoll, who have been integral pillars of support throughout my time at the club.

"There is a strong infrastructure and environment in place that puts the Club on a strong footing to move forward - a world-class training facility, a passionate and unswerving fan base, a group of great players full of ability and character, and special owners.

Doesn't mention Mike Stowell- Classy.

Passionate and unswerving fan base---Who us????? LOL!!!

You do over defend him lol

Qualifying for Europe and winning the cup won't be forgotten, people don't forget that - equally they won't forget how much Rodgers has fcuked things up and only cared about himself too.

He's calling me unswerving? I've been begging that we swerve for a good 18 months. Clueless.

I personally was hoping for:

"You lot don't deserve an elite manager. I hope your club sinks. **** you and your contract stipulations. Ungrateful *****."

Course I do, because the same people post the same thing and it's so boring.

RE forgetting - I was talking about posts I've seen already "his football made Puel's look good", people forget how bad the football was under Puel, Shakespeare and Ranieri's second season. We went about 6 games without even scoring under Ranieri but I just see "this [under Rodgers] is the worse I've seen us". Get a grip.

Qualifying for Europe, through league position may I add, something we've done in our history how many times? Once before? But people look at the "we should have finished 4th" aspect, and of course it was a disapointment we didn't finish 4th but finishing 5th is equally a great achievement and I believe won't be done again.

He did fvck things up in the end, not helped by the players too who should take some responsibility. But you won't hear from them, they don't have to come out and justify their pathetic performances. Rodgers trusted too many players who are not good enough and no doubt will be (hopefully) moved on when we hire an adequate manager. "Only cared about himself" is such a boring post that I refer to above, it's like a default response because people don't actually know any other way to criticise.

Anyway, it's over now, it's Leicester City FC and it's hopefully onwards and upwards.
