World Snooker Championship 2023

Like I do every year, here’s a separate thread for the World Snooker Championship, draw was made a few hours ago...

 

Really need video evidence to show that this wasn’t fixed... Shaun Murphy vs Si Jiahui  

 

Some potentially cracking matches in store in the top half. From the bottom half, very interested to see how Fan Zhengyi & Wu Yize fare against Allen & Robertson.

 

With that draw, I’m favouring Selby for his 5th.

Our game vs Everton being moved to May 1st is really annoying, first time I'll have missed the snooker final in a long time.

I listened to it on Radio 5 and Murphy was on. He was a bit self depreciating about it to be fair to him.

 

I'd say Selby is favourite too, hitting from at the right time.

Snooker tournaments are so difficult to bet on but I think Allen is a good bet. I would like to see Selby win just because of the Leicester connection.

I want Allen to win obviously but he got pelters for changing his style from flamboyant to cautious at times this season

Ronnie was very lucky in that session. Turned up looking like he had rolled out of bed 5 minutes before and his opponent missed some sitters.

Just came across his Eurosport interview, he has a bug.

 

If that lingers and he doesn’t improve his scoring, doubt he’ll be winning an 8th this year.

The saving grace for him is that he doesn't play again until Friday, decent amount of time to shake it off.

There is always something wrong with him. Especially if he's not played well.
