They have. 

 

That's why there's so much hype over Fiji for this world cup. That's exactly what they've done. 

 

They've got a Super Rugby team now, they're playing first class rugby weekly, the players not there are all in France and England. They're very well coached and organised, they're fitter than they've ever been. Plus the tweak to the eligibility laws means a lot of the islands are claiming back guys that went and got a rogue cap for Aus or NZ and that's making a genuine difference to their depth. 

 

They're the bookmakers favourites to get out of our group and to beat us tonight.

 

I actually have a sneaking feeling that it Gats does what he's best at, he'll have prepared for this game more than any other and if we don't choke we might surprise a few people and actually grind out a pretty damn efficient win. But really, even the discipline and the set piece of Fiji is significantly improved. 

 

Only thing they're really lacking is minutes. It's so hard for them to get match time and games because, quite frankly, World Rugby are a disgrace in how poorly they support tier 2 (which Fiji shouldn't really be in anymore.)

I like it because the choir versions are ruining great anthems so it makes the english one not sound too bad.

It sort of worked for the Fijian one because nobody in the crowd knows it. 

 

It's a shame Spain didn't qualify I'd have loved to hear the choir do theirs.

Because the on field decision was try because the ref is English 

 

 

Edit: to clarify sensibly, the burden of proof is different depending on the refs call. If the ref had called it a knock on they'd probably have only looked at it once, maybe twice.

Alfie knows. We win this by making it boring. He'll remember all too well what happens when you try and join in and play like they do. 

 

Play it dull. Kick it away, put them under pressure, play to to their discipline, kick the pens.

 

Save the creativity for Aus.

Scrums are also now completely pointless, it's virtually impossible to turn the ball over. Scrap them and use the time spent pissing about setting them up to get on with it.

Or you could have a turn over after say... six tackles or something.

I did think that would make it a bit Leaguey, but it's definitely a waste of time.
