Watch again

he definitely did go up to monga as he ran back to the half way line

but if the narrative is better that he didn’t then believe that

Winks was awful and gave the ball away cheaply, I blame him for his inability to keep possession of the ball for Preston’s second goal. Bin him off, he can’t act billy big bollocks and play shit at the same time

He's undoubtedly our best CM but comes across as a petulant and immature character. From arguing with Cooper on the touchline, to his disagreements with Ruud, and now  refusing to celebrate goals or acknowledge the fans. He should've been told to fuch off and find another club last season.

He should be the obvious choice as captain but instead he’s like a spoilt big kid. Get rid asafp

Remember when Tielemans, and Evans in the final year of their contract and there was conflict with certain fans saying we should cash in as they won’t be motivated and others saying Youri would be the difference and him keeping us in the prem is worth more than a fee etc etc well remember how that turned out, they checked out and we were relegated, this feels similar with Winks, he has the quality to be star at this level, if motivated and engaged however this does not appear to be the case and therefore it’s highly likely come September the drop off will continue and he will become less and less effective and we will be left with a demotivated and very expensive player going through the motions.

Saturday showed me where he is at with our club, he has checked out and keeping him hoping he suddenly has a change of heart and goes back to his 2023 form are going to be sadly disappointed. The only viable solo too is to get a fee and get his wages off the books and hopefully reinvest in a high energy midfielder who is committed and will give 100% for the club.

Exactly this and frankly even Tielemans I don't remember doing it so brazenly as this.

Winks is damaged goods. He's got to go. This week should be hectic for us.

I bet we get something like 1 out 0 in though - despite the fact it should be a minimum of 3 each.

Even if we he was actually our best midfielder we should get rid, he has a year left.  Soumare has a year left. Choudhury has two years left.

We need to raise some funds to actually get in a non-bag-of-wank midfielder that actually wants to be here.

Agree, but these lot just have no takers, there’s no one interested, we’re stuck with them.

Somewhere along the way we lost the player profile that suited Leicester, and started taking these lazy frauds with bad attitudes.

Im also a firm believer that Schmeichel knew it was the right time to go, and Vardy did too, you look around at your workmates and just think, no, this isn’t going to work. Sometimes those key player departures tell you more about what’s coming up than any manager will ever do.

Just to follow up on this.

There is a notion with group psychology called 'mood terrorism'. This was actually explain by Pearson's psychologist some time ago.

Within the squad, you'll have four groups at the moment.

1. Those who want to leave and vocal about it.

2. Those who would leave but remain professional

3. Those who just want to get their head down but if the right move come along....

4. Those who just want to get their head down and need to work hard themselves.

You'll find as well that personality wise you'll have stronger voices than others and those characteristics normally lead to them being 1s or 4s. The longer we keep 1s at LCFC, it converts 2s to not being professional, it converts 3s into wanting a move and leaves 4s completely unmotivated.

If Winks is a 1, then he needs to leave or be completely excluded. 2s you can talk to it and they understand the plan. 3s you can sell a dream. 4s are so your strong underbelly.

In the next two weeks, the club needs to rid it of 1s. Regardless of quality because they will run everyone else down.

Very good post.

The bottom line is the club need to support Marti to bring some players in to refresh the squad and theoretically bring existing players up to 4’s getting rid of the 1’s. And yes we have to get rid of the players that don’t want to be here otherwise things will go from bad to worse. Get a motivated team that maybe isn’t as talented is where we want to position ourselves in a reset at the bare minimum if the club can’t invest huge sums. That team with fan support will do a lot better than the current crop.

When Monga scored, Winks was walking about and didn’t even break stride when the goal went in. Then started walking back. Presumably that was when he approached Monga. Surely though you would expect an initial show of relief or pleasure when the goal was scored. Nothing to do with making the narrative suit. His reaction to an equalising goal was nil.

I think a lot of the problem is that very few of us actually know what has specifically gone on. People hear things without hearing both sides and take it for gospel. Can anyone actually back up with facts that he was behind the Enzo sign?

We live in strange times where fans can’t wait to jump on the backs of people and criticise just because they feel they have the right to do so.

Of course there’s no smoke without fire and I’m not saying Winks hasn’t done anything wrong or acted unprofessionally but one thing I can say for sure is that no one on here knows the full extent of it all.

Disappointed that he didn’t acknowledge fans at Preston, that’s very poor in my eyes and if he continues playing here, that can’t happen again. Even if you don’t want to clap the fans at least walk off the pitch with the rest of the team together.

He either needs to get himself a move, or failing that get on with playing football for us.

Great post and all very true.

I understand him being annoyed with the previous management and even the club in general - But I’m a little confused as to why he seems pissed off with the match going fans?

They’ve been largely supportive of him from my experience…certainly not overly negative anyway.

I can only assume he’s very active online - There has been a decent amount of negativity towards him on here for example.

I can only imagine it’s because of the flak he’s received from fans for his alleged antics last season that have been reported by (albeit fairly credible) journalists.

There were also plenty of fans who defended him and expressed sympathy with his situation as a new father. It provoked a lot of debate, with different opinions expressed. If he’s decided that because some supporters took RVN’s side he has the right to disrespect the entire fanbase, he’s a petulant child. It’s a shame because if he swallowed his pride and showed a bit more humility, most fans would be happy to get behind him again. But it seems that is beyond him. A tricky situation for Marti to handle if we can’t sell him

As a fan of over 60 years living in Spurs territory the laughter never stops over the scam pulled off in selling us Winks and his mate Skip. Slackers and lightweight said to me time and time again. One of many examples of Rudkins inability to plan and ignore his agent mates. Very inept and sad

I thought Daka's reaction was the worst after Monga scored, he didn't even look at him never mind celebrate with him.

After, when Monga rushed to get the ball out of the net and run back to the halfway line  celebrating with Fatawu, Daka was just sauntering back with a dazed look.

Agree totally we lost our way. We are now back to needing a Nigel pearson type. Someone who's going to come in and take no shit from big egos . Set a standard of the type of players we buy and build a team that's together.

That's never going to happen  with top as owner though as that type of manager will either want rudkin and Co gone or at least put in their places. There's not a chance top will have his or his sidekicks ego bruised ,so we will carry on falling in the chaos.

I don't quite understand what he's so upset about, unless I've missed something. He made the squad / club look daft when he held up that sign for Enzo and he had a pretty public falling out with Ruud, yet I've not heard Leicester fans turn on him or anything along those lines, if anything, he's got away with a lot!

Yet he's moping around like we've been trying to hound him out the club, really don't understand it, particularly how popular he was in the promotion season, unless he's fallen out with Marti Cifuentes as well.

im hoping that the new manager is that person. I suspect (hope) he is provided he is given the time and the support needed. I get the impression that beneath the surface he might be quite ruthless. That said, if there isnt the top level support need to change things and deal with those players, then you cant just cut your nose off to spite your face in a 'results orientated business'
