Maddison won us far more points than he cost us last season - by quite a large distance.

For large parts of the season he was the only one doing it, ultimately he couldn’t do it all on his own.

You can’t quantify that though.

At times he tried to do too much himself, which lead to moves breaking down.

However when your passing options are Amartey and Tielemans who’s 29 yards behind play.

Without doubt, he’d be exceptional under Enzo.

Maddison is well down the list of people to blame for last season but he is culpable in not realising the situation we were in until it was too late.

Of all the episodes of mismanagement we were subjected to last season, Smith deciding a midfield pairing of tielemans and soumare had a place in a top flight game is up there.

fulham away we’d have got a better result playing Darren Kenton and Jason jarrett, let alone mendy sitting on the bench.

They can't be counting Evans's little cameo against Arsenal, where a deflected shot against him and him playing someone onside led to 2 goals. Lovely him declaring a 1-0 against Burnley as the best night of his life :)

He was going on like someone who thinks marking his 200th appearance with an assist, win and clean sheet for the club he first joined aged ten is something to be proud of

"one of the best nights of my life'

Absolute charlatan

Perez should have stayed.

Hindsight, he offered more than the likes of Tete, Soumare and even Tielemans.

Anyone criticising Maddison last season needs to take a good look at their selves. He was easily our best player last season.

Don`t disagree, but is being better than everyone else in a relegation team much to celebrate? Perhaps it is, but personally think everyone of that team shares the blame and being better than the rest provides no way to escape for their part in that.

You know what? I quite like Perez. We overpaid but a decent player.

Based on what we've seen of our new wingers and Kasey Mac so far, I'd say we've ended up in a better position

I’m such a big fan and such an alpha these people are all dead to me. Little beta baby men talking about ex players. I’m so disgustingly masculine I hate everyone who’s ever left us. Plastics.

So many other players (and coaches and board members) to blame for relegation before you get to Maddison, in my view.

So many goals conceded through poor touches, bad passes, miscommunication between defence and goalkeeper, defending from corners, lack of tracking back, no energy and complete denial at the position we were in.

At one point we were giving teams headstarts in every single game. Yes, the Bournemouth backpass and Everton penalty miss contributed to our slide out of the division, at the sharp end of the season when each moment is amplified in its importance, but if any other player played anywhere near his level throughout the season, we'd have had a much better chance of staying up.

Maddison haters still clowning themselves.  Stays healthy, he’ll be Spurs player of the season and recognized as a major star.  Now both very, very productive and a consummate entertainer.  (Not so much different than what he was for us.)

He was immature and has an ego.  So what?!  Successful young footballers grow up in a bubble and most have maturity issues.  Some grow out of it, some don’t.  Maddison is turning out to be an articulate leader and spokesman.  If he didn’t have that big ego -- that confidence -- he’d never have become the player he is.

We had him in his growing-up years because we can’t afford such talent in peak, got-their-act-together form.  But I forget, he torched 5 grand on an idiotic backpack and painted his own mug on his stadium suite.  He must be shite beyond all shite.  Glad the little snot is gone.

Tbf I would say that 99% of Leicester fans (and those on here) are fans of Maddison and want him to do well. Spurs on the other hand no, but good to see him doing well.

Only annoying thing is he isn't necessarily doing anything different to when he played for us but because its Spurs/Top 6 team, the media are creaming over him acting like he's suddenly become amazing.

The one I wonder most about with the new system is Cags.  A physical, ball playing CB with decent pace might have fitted in well under Enzo.  Did we make any effort to keep him?

If he doesn’t get too many games, and we’re promoted I could see him returning. Like you, I think he’d be great under Enzo

I agree with this to some extent

If you get a player who made a significant contribution whilst they were here then I find boos and derision a bit moronic when they return.

However, I often see comments of wishing them well and hoping that they’re successful at their new clubs. Once they leave us I really couldn’t care less about their future career (with rare notable exceptions).

If I wish Maddison well, for example, I am by definition also wishing Spurs well. Same with Aston Villa and Tielemans and Barnes at Newcastle.  Bollocks to that!!
