It isn’t textbook though is it, they both go for the ball, it was unfortunate he clipped him in fact… as you can clearly see he does for the ball. You can say any challenge is a reckless endangerment lol

It certainly wasn't deliberate from my point of view, but that's not relevant. It was a studs up knee high challenge. It's a red if the ref isn't blind. Which he was.

Mavs celebration was crazy.

Lucky he didn't get set upon and chinned.

A few players did the same at the weekend. Personally I would have done the 'Bellingham' to really piss them off.

Has no barring on whether its red card or not in the laws of the game.....

It wasn’t studs up, he had his foot up because the ball is off the ground, and barely clips him

Lovely bizzare piece on BBC describing Mavididi as ‘contemptuous’ and ‘smug’ while Birmingham’s James was ‘inspirational’.

According to the live text the same reporter wanted Mavididi sent off for the celebration alone.

What do you expect from the Bullsheet Broadcast Corp?

Regardless, it isn’t a red unless you don’t want anyone to challenge for a ball off the ground lol

Well the 3 ex pros in the Sky studio disagree with you and all stated it should have been a red.

Anyone who thinks the Fatawu challenge is a red is exactly what's wrong with football currently. So desperate for people to be sent off, he caught him and should've been a foul, probably a yellow. That's it.

Fatawu’s challenge could easily have been a red, but swings and roundabouts.

A yellow at worst for me. He was going for the ball and it genuinely looked like he won it on TV. I think VAR would've gave it but that's the problem with slowing things down.

If we just all agreed with those in the studio we wouldn’t need any debate on anything… done deal then lol for me it isn’t a red, he doesn’t show his stops, and goes for what is a 50/50 ball that is off the ground..  not a red

Or just know the laws of the game as they stand. That's it.

I have been very critical of Mavididi but tonight we was unplayable and my MOTM.

Hopefully he finds some consistency.

Or just use some common sense?

It's not a knee high slide tackle or anything like that, he's gone to kick the ball (and actually a touched a bit of it) and caught the knee at the same time. These things happen.

It's not really about what we think. Do you honestly think PL VAR wouldn't have turned that into a red!?

Whether you or I, or anyone else think it's a red card is irrelevant. In the Prem, with the ref sent over to the VAR screen to watch a super slo-mo of the incident (which always makes it look worse), he more than likely gets a red.

I have seen a lot worse and nothing given that is for sure and that is with VAR… you only have to see a couple of challenges on our players last season

Ok so I thought minute 30 through to minute 70 was the best football we’ve played all season.

I’m also not too worried about the goals, both tonight’s first and Millwall’s first were incredibly well taken goals, the second was a massive deflection.

I doubt many people think it should be a red in an ideal world but it absolutely is a red card in the current game.
