If you think Mollie is a bit dim try the Australian version - all episodes are available on the iPlayer now.  No spoilers but there is one guy makes Harry look like a Saint and the rest make Mollie look like a genius.

haha yeah i am going through S1 after missing it last time out. Watched S2 and thought it was brilliant. Last episode i watched was where they went upside down on the big wheel thing.

I can't watch this show. The game design is broken. Why would you set up a game in such a way that stupidity and incompetence is rewarded and intelligence punished?

 

They will inevitably end up with all the dumbasses left at the end of every season, while anyone with half a functioning brain in their head will be removed first.

 

I suppose you could argue it's a metaphor for the state of modern society but that doesn't constitute entertainment IMO.

My missus has watched both this week. That was my reaction. She watched season two first. I don't really go for reality TV or gameshows but I thought it was a pretty neat concept with some mostly sensible people. 

 

Then she watched season one. Holy shit. Every two minutes someone's either crying or flying off the handle and their theories are just insane.

I watched the Aus version last autumn. It's actually insane at how incompetent they are. The main person is Paul x100 imo and the select few who are taken in deserve everything they get. The ending is brilliant though. It really is an infuriatingly good watch.

 

Brilliant series. Been cancelled in Aus though after two seasons which is a shame, enjoyed both.

I don’t think it always ends like that and you are missing out by not watching it.

I watched the first season and the Australian one and they were both literally just idiot contests. It's bound to be right? If you're a traitor you are obviously getting rid of all the smart people and letting all the clueless ones stay to the end.

 

They need to add some additional incentive to keep the competent people around longer like they have in the early phase of Survivor where the challenges are actually challenging. Make it harder to stack the pot or something.

Unpopular opinion but as much as I think Claudia is alright, I don't think that it works with the presenter being so friendly and a cheer leader for the players. 

 

It needs an Alan Rickman/Anne Robinson/Black Adder type character projected onto a stone wall.
