Was working with a Rangers fan today. He seems convinced he's on his way up there and furthermore, was really excited about it.

Martin is clearly gearing up for 3 at the back. They have 7 CB's right now but everyone expects Propper and Davies to leave as well as Leon King going out on loan so they would probably still be looking for 2 more.

Coady just isn't a very good defender though. It's not even a case of legs being gone or whatnot, he always played a pretty unique role for Wolves. Dyche binned him pretty quickly at Everton.

We now have 3 academy centre backs who look to be better defenders than Coady. Nelson, Aluko and Wilson Brown all looked very good today, would be very happy if all 3 were new signings bought for £5mil.

 

What value is experience if the player attached to it isnt good? Much rather have the better players starting if you ask me.

Would you be happy if we sold Nelson for 5 million? I think he starts for us and wouldn't be suprised if he is captain when Ricardo is not playing.

I’m sure the op is suggesting he’d be happy if we’d bought any of the 3 rather than suggesting they’d happily take 5m fir them… either way I agree re Nelson I have a dream of an Okoli Nelson cb pairing 🙏🏻

Yes, that was the point I was trying to make. Of course you would be happy to pay £5m for Nelson, in my opinion he is worth more to us than that.

Definitely not! Just saying that we would be happy if we had spent money on these players and £5mil is the typical sum to buy a good championship defender.

 

In the context of the market £15mil on Faes and Vestergaard each was ludicrous and is not the norm!

Oh for sure, I mean I’d be disappointed to see him leave for any sort of fee but realistically in the predicament we’re in you’d have to be considering anything over 15m… hopefully nobody (probably Chelsea)  dangle said carrot lol
