Ownership that's asleep at the wheel and is not focused on footballing matters but, instead, is looking at how to extract value from a fictional fanbase of excessively wealthy tourists coming to Leicester?

Funnily enough they picked up 16 pts from their next possible 51, which isn't vastly different. Then 6 from the last 4. I guess it depends how much control he's had over the signings and if he's had/or wanted the chance to vet personalities. To me it seems like he probably had very little say in signings and has been tasked with working what he has - history could well say I was being kind. Pros for me are, he seems like a decent bloke and has a track record of working with young players. I think that's something that'll come in handy for us if we want to turn the financial shape of the club around. Can be tactically flexible and work with players he had rather than ramming a style down his squads throat. Main negatives seem to be his style of football is defensive and risk averse and that he plays the victim card. I can't stand either of these two things, so I'm hoping at a new club he loses those traits (if he has them). You'd assume he will be hired and tasked to play a possession based style of football while developing young talent to help improve our standing and to sell for profit. Almost a bit like Puel, but he's got a head start of not having a team that's been playing Rugby for 2/3 seasons. His promotion team wasn’t negative or risk average. 3rd top scorers and 2nd best defense from where he took over is outstanding. People forget the shit hand he was dealt in terms of losing so many players from the promotion team and then the total mess of a transfer strategy. Everyone on here had them down as a dead man walking upon promotion. So to keep them up way way above expectations. He’s always preached wanting to play good football, but I don’t think he’s one of them like Maresca who wants to force it no matter what, from his comments he’ll do what he needs to first to get to that position. If it’s him, I have no idea how it will go. We’ve been surprised many times and I hope we will again. I certainly don’t get the total distain on here for him, I think it’s well over the top. 5

orangecity23 Posted 19 June 2024 Posted 19 June 2024 Cooper managed to lose 4-0 at the KP to our mob of incompetents in 2022, when we had Danny Ward in goal and were fresh off conceding 11 goals in one week vs Brighton and Spurs. I suspect we'll be struggling to get from negative up to zero points for the first couple of months this season. Horrible. This is going to be a worse season than the last one in the Prem.

I always thought they were very entertaining when I saw them that season. 1

Brizzle Fox Posted 19 June 2024 Posted 19 June 2024 (edited) Tbqh it doesn't really matter who KPFC appoint as manager and what style of football they play, as looking at the ticket price increases, no one will be able to afford to go and watch them anyway... Edited 19 June 2024 by Brizzle Fox
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 19 June 2024 Posted 19 June 2024 What I find more confusing is why Potter thinks he’s practically guaranteed the England job! For me personally I would want Eddie Howe in the role.

No manage seems good enough and every foxestalk poster has their own opinion the club will never get it right. For me Corberan is who I’d go for but he’s I’d imagine the £4million release clause is the sticking point. Potter it would seem isn’t chomping at the bit to come here so the inevitable choice is Cooper. I’d feel uneasy going for an unknown with zero experience in the premier league the aim should be to stay up at all costs with the tiny budget we’ll have - I’m certain some on here think we’re going to attract the next big thing with a points deduction and minimal spend, it’ll be a tough job and we’re likely limited with who want to it. Dames Posted 19 June 2024 Posted 19 June 2024 Cooper will be the first manager we’ve had in years that isnt dogmatically wedded to a certain style of play. Quietly hopeful about this. We need a pragmatist. 3
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 19 June 2024 Posted 19 June 2024 (edited) I remember when there was fury and disdain for an over-the-hill Italian manager on these boards about 10 years ago. Can anybody remember what happened next? Oh and by the way, all the guff about having a better manager last season, we will see. I am positive Cooper would have had us winning the division with the squad we had too. At least we will have a manager in charge and not a coach. Welcome to hell Steve!!
