I did for Blackburn away last year when they moved it to Friday night then Sunday midday. Think I ended up with some sort of voucher after sending small claims court summons. My argument being ‘subject to change’ was not appropriately defined, could they change the ko time one hour before advertised ko and lean on the ‘subject to change’ clause???

I’m absolutely up for coordinating a number of us doing this. Just to make a point.

Good idea in theory but unfortunately people are more interested in saying 'games gone mate ticket office shambles' on the internet than taking action. And I absolutely do not want my face in the public so cannot launch a campaign like UFS and foxes trust reform so excellently do

If the Arsenal game gets moved to 8pm , won't that cause a problem with the trains as I sure the last one south is about 10pm?

Just checked , for me to get back to Bedford, it's 21:14.

Hopefully I'll get booed when it leave early 😆

I think it’s 50/50 at the minute, Only if Arsenal are drawn away the game will move to 8pm, we won’t know until a few weeks before hand as the draw is not until the 31st of January!!!

If Arsenal are in the CL playoff round, there's a 75% chance that our game stays at 12:30pm:

50% chance Arsenal get drawn away for that leg.

Then from there, it's a 50% chance their game gets put on the Wednesday, rather than the Tuesday.

So only a 25% chance that we move to 8pm.

Another wrinkle: If 'Same Old, Always Cheating' do get drawn away for that leg, we'll need to wait til CL TV fixtures get confirmed to know which date their CL game is on (won't be immediately after the draw, but would expect this by the 1st of Feb)

Last time at Goodison best not be moved ffs.

I can't cope with all these changes anymore really starting to annoy me now. Granted Arsenal won't probably move but 8pm is a ridiculous time to KO. A reason why I didn't go to the West Ham game mid week is because I didn't want to get in at midnight.

Nothing changes in this Country though does it. People moan but still go to games. I wish all fanbases would just boycott games for a weekend or something.

Stop subscribing to Sky/TNT or Amazon. It's the only way.

I've posted many times that BBC 5 Live is the best coverage and I prefer to listen on radio and do other things round the house. Couldn't imagine sitting down and watching two back to back football matches on Sky.

But overall I agree. People will moan about Sky moving games but then happily pay for it.

Does this mean that if we want the 12:30 KO more than the 8 pm one we will all be supporting Arsenal in their next Champions League game, hoping they qualify without a play off? It'll be a tough job, I'll need a thorough shower afterwards, just need to adopt the attitude of a perennial runner up and turn a blind eye to blatant cheating for 95 minutes, sing songs about Tottenham who are in no way involved and moan about referees in that kind of pitch of voice where it cracks and sounds like you're crying.....I'll girrit a go! :dunno:

As far as difficulty is concerned though wouldn't it be preferable to play them after a midweek game rather than after a midweek rest, 7 hours difference not really too relevant compared to that :dunno:

I have to applaud this. Not many would go through with it.

Still a piss take that it comes to this though.

I love it, watched our game at 2pm then Spurs v Chelsea at 430pm with the F1 on the second screen on Sunday. Great way to spend an afternoon when buildings were shaking in the wind outside.

I think to stop all this nonsense people need to 'cut the cord' and switch to IPTV and protest vocally whilst at matches. Dunno how much of an effect boycotting stadiums will have.

I battled 280 mile round trip in the storm on Sunday then listened to the Tot vs Che match on the way home (5-Live). There would've been two empty seats if it had been an 8pm kick off.

Totally agree with you about cutting the cord and protesting at matches

In reality the odds take into account many other factors around which countries teams are from, how that affects policing, the other teams match schedules etc. etc.

Even if we use your logic, Arsenal are almost guaranteed to finish at least 16th or higher. Place 9 to 16 play away first, it's not an open draw. Therefore, your first point is actually 100%. Arsenal will be away first.

You're right about the draw procedure notes, which state "In principle, the seeded clubs play the return leg matches at home". I was wrong to base my odds on the assumption that the order of home/away legs would be based on an open draw.

The current CL table has Arsenal in 7th place. They're level on points with 9th at the moment, and are only 2 points above 17th. No idea which bracket they'll finish in based on this.

So I'll withdraw my 75% number - it's more complicated than that, even before we try to figure out how likely a home Arsenal first leg against an unknown opponent is to be given a Tuesday date rather than a Wednesday.

For me, broadcasters should be forced to have more respect for fans. They shouldn't be allowed to put a match with this much uncertainty into the Saturday early slot, as our KO time might not be known with any certainty as late as 1 Feb, 11 days before the match!

Think we're past the point of that making any difference now- global audience/market will dwarf the UK.

Yeh but domestic broadcasters are the ones that hold the current slots. If it was up to global broadcast, we'd have a sport like boxing where we wouldn't see kickoffs until midnight.

So Ars will have to finish 17-24 to be away in the second leg. Unlikely given remaining fixtures. Even then it would have to be on Wed rather than Tues (luck of the draw for this?)

Yes, but I'm not sure whether a 17-24 finish is unlikely - won't speculate on that as there are too many variables (Arsenal's results, and the results of others around them).

Tue v Wed isn't based on the draw itself, it's more the factors cited by Krefelder:

If you were using 'luck of the draw' as a figure of speech there, rather than referring to the actual draw, I'd say that a different figure of speech might've been more appropriate to avoid confusion: a 'flip of a coin'.

I do think UEFA take into account match scheduling of the participating teams so there have to be no changes to games following. It should only be a last resort putting Arsenal on the Wednesday before (likely a very small chance). That said, even a small chance means it could still happen.

It’s not Sky/TNT or Amazon that set the tv kick off slots, it’s the Premier League that does that, the tv companies just pick what teams are in those predetermined slots set by the premier league

So would the Premier League set those kick off slots without the involvement of the TV broadcasters?
