US resident here.

Shitting myself over another Trump presidency.

Somebody please tell me something positive about him coming in so I can have something to look forward to.

Unfortunately, I genuinely think he's going to win.

What makes you think that? I’ve thought he would win for a few weeks but now I think Harris will after the last 48 hours and how the polls seem to have shifted. (From the ones I’ve seen)

Genuine question here

Was it that awful, and was your life affected for the worse over the 4 years that he previously had in charge?

Something that I've also asked myself and I'm lucky that I'm a white man.

I have to deal with my wife's constant anxiety over women's rights being restricted which impacts my mental health.

Seeing women in other states die due to abortion complications also gives me anxiety.

I have a whole list of mental health related stuff too.

Anyway, I asked for something Trump will do that will cheer me up, not give me another panic attack!

I don't believe the polls after the Hilary election when they predicted a big win for her.

Additionally, people can and should vote based on other things than what affects them and only them right now.

Short term self interest is how a lot of the messes of the world start and continue.

😂😂 I forgot we might be stuck with you all night

I've got a motorbike being delivered first thing, I'll be tucked up all toasty and staring at the bedroom door like a kid on Xmas Eve, listening out for Father Bikemass.

I appreciate the answer to my question which certainly wasn’t intended to cause any stress or panic.

I agree with this but it was an honest question to ask.

What is the perception of the election in the UK?

Appreciate it mate, easy to say this end but maybe turn all devices/televisions off, book a nice restaurant for you and your Wife and take a few hours away from it all (easier said than done, I know)

Probably a feeling that Kamala Harris is a mediocre candidate coupled with a degree of disbelief that Trump can be one given the end of his last presidency and the fact that he’s barely coherent.

Yeah, it's a fair question.

In the UK, from what I can tell, it's rather strange that the choice has a. come to this in the first place and b. is this close now that it has, given past events.

It's mental it's come to this.

I'm trying to find middle ground with people voting for Trump but the majority seem like insane cultists.

I'm still trying to figure out what make up he wears,  sometimes it looks like a dark tan on pink skin, sometimes orange on light pale skin, makes me wonder if it's like a Scooby doo unmasking when he retires for the night and has for Harris, a non entity right there. Are these really the best two from such a huge nation?

Trump is old and barely escaped an assassination attempt. He'll probably top himself by swinging a 5 iron to his head. Just hang in there.

And if people need a reminder, one just needs to think of Charlottesville in 2017 and Washington DC in January 2021.

Yeah, Harris is like Biden in that she's not even in the top fifty ideal candidates for the job.

But given everything that's happened, "not Trump" and "not Repub policies" are obvious and entirely legitimate positions on their own and need no further explanation IMO.
