Honestly even if he continues this form for us this season we are not in a position to outlay £40mil+ on any player no matter how good they are.

Even if Brighton is content to sell and he's happy to join permanently it's too risky for a club in our position.

Brighton are, quite rightly, going to do what they did with Ben White. They won't sell him this coming summer, they'll give him a season in their first team then sell to the big six for 70m+.

Yes we would. Agree with the gist of many of your posts in this thread, but not here.

I’d personally be very disappointed to sell Buonanotte for £50m. That’s nowhere near his peak value and if I were a Leicester fan I’d be delighted with that deal. Given his age and ceiling I’d be looking at £80m+ and I’d still be unhappy to sell him. Crazy money but that is the industry we’re in, and Brighton have shown they won’t be pushed around by bigger clubs. We’ll extract maximum value and rightfully so.

But you’re spot on in other posts. Many Leicester fans are setting themselves up for disappointment if they think they’ll sign him come end of the season. And I don’t say that to be arrogant, as Brighton fans we went through similar with Levi Colwill. The mantra of “don’t fall in love with a loan player” does tend to hold up.

What happens next season with Facundo remains to be seen, a lot of ways things could play out, so speculation to say he’s definitely not going back to Brighton or whatever.
Eg, Pedro and Mitoma and/or another could be sold in the summer. We may reach Europe again - so we’ll need a big squad. Or we won’t reach Europe. Too many variables.

My hope is we reach Europe and recall Buonanotte as we need a bigger squad.

But am delighted to see him doing well at Leicester and the fans love him. If he plays well and helps keep you up in what is always a tricky first season back, it’s win win for all.

No Leicester fan that actually follows football thinks he's staying.

No Brighton fan that actually follows football is naive enough to think his future is at Brighton.

If you get a season out of him next year that'll be about it. He's going to be far too good for either of our clubs.

Just be happy you're going to make something like 45-50m profit and don't get greedy.

Don’t understand your point?

He’s under contract with Brighton for 4 years. So we hold all the cards.

Does it mean he’s going to be at Brighton for life? Of course not. That’s a strawman. No Brighton fan thinks that. And no football fan of any team thinks this for most best players anymore. Those days are gone. Even Haaland won’t be at City his whole career.

He will move on when the time is right with our best wishes.

If you haven’t noticed we have a number of exciting young talents, Buonanotte is not an exception. Enciso, Joao Pedro, Baleba, Hinshelwood, Ferguson, Adingra to name a few.

If Brighton want Buonanotte back, he’ll be playing at Brighton nest season.

“Greedy” 😂

That’s what Big6 fans say when they don’t get our players on the cheap.

Nothing to do with being greedy. If an elite or oil club wants them, we’ll sell our best players at full market value, as we or any club should.

I don't think Buonanotte is more than a £45/50m player. Dani Olmo went for not much more in the summer.

He’s one of the most exciting young players in the league for me. Wonderful footballer. Plenty of room to improve still but, his determination to influence games is what I love the most about him. Very unlikely we'll keep him here long term if he keeps this up,  so let’s just enjoy his time with us while we can

Yes you do, it's written in the sentence you chose not to quote:

Again, see above.

Believe me, we've done nothing but notice. It's obviously not escaped the attention of most Leicester fans that you've come up behind us and started doing a better job of how we were previously operating. It's not like you invented buying talented young players to up-sell (and neither did we.)

But a key part of that business model is selling them on when the big clubs come calling. You won't hold Buonanotte back when he wants to go because, if you did, that sends a message to other young players that might be thinking of using Brighton as a stepping stone that maybe they should reconsider. You don't want that, so you'll sell.

Some of your fans might start dreaming of that moment you progress as a club sufficiently that you stop selling these players and start holding on to them but anyone with those sorts of dreams probably wants to look to a club like Dortmund. You can be massive, continentally renowned, and still understand your place in the world and I'm sure you know better than anyone that Tony Bloom is far from delusional.

Again, trust me, we've been there, we've had to deal with all of their arrogance. But we've also been there in terms of hoping and expecting more from our players than ends up being realistic. Harvey Barnes and James Maddison are both comfortably more than £35m footballers but the reality of our situation wasn't exactly one where we could and did hold out for the value the statistics might have implied.

I'd be extremely surprised if Buonanotte goes for 80m or if Brighton refuse to sell just because you don't get that figure. It's easier to get carried away after you get silly money for a player like Caicedo (again, we've been there, with Maguire and Fofana breaking and near breaking records.) But transfers like that always end up being freak and especially with the Premier League starting to get uncomfortable with some of the spending, there's obviously been a little bit of a shift in the last couple of windows.

I apologise for my tone, I know I probably come across as arrogant and preachy. If it helps, I'm like that to our own fans on here too lol - but you do seem to have a certain bullishness that I think will get a wake up call when Facundo is sat on Man City's bench next year being blood in by Pep following a ~£60m tops transfer.

At the very least I hope his contibutions here (which will be vast this season) encourage our club to step up their scouting and recruitment in South America. It's been largely non-existent over the years except for the occasional European based Argentinian and one exceptionally unlucky Brazilian. We need to explore this market more.

Please take this as non-serious affectionate ribbing @Ric Flair, but that's weapons grade arse covering :P

He’s been getting serious with a bird from Stoneygate whose dad's a massive Leicester fan, maybe there’s a chance he stays………..

That’s my sister and I wouldn’t class him as a massive fan, just a fan. I’m the massive fan hence my posts here. Still sounds very promising.

Your sister is dating Buonanotte?

Don’t think it’s as unlikely as we think, think with FFP if he isn’t impressive enough to get a move to the big 6 they could be tempted with a big bid, Gibbs-White/Eliot Anderson style, as they do have a lot of options, even though they are currently far better than us. Provided we survive of course
