Suppose he can't help it somewhat, if it is to do with his Aspergers and felt under pressure to do something in front of a crowd? :dunno:

It could be, but he also loves ketamine by all accounts so combine poor communication skills with a dissociative drug and somebody who has never faced any consequences in life and you have a recipe for a nazi salute.

Wait wtf Biden pardoned fauci

And Trump withdrew from the WHO.

Let's see in a few years time which one is responsible for more death and suffering.

Yep. - the longer clip showed the context.

did trump not sign a EO which time barred the PL and EFL from bringing any PSR charges against us ?

You would have thought he would know what it would look like, though.

NB. I'm sure lots of vulnerable and disadvantaged people in the US and elsewhere appreciate that joke.

Having Aspergers (or being on any part of the spectrum) doesn't make you a power mongering sociopath, Wymse.

I think there’s plenty of ways you can make a show of “giving your heart to the people” without doing a Nazi salute.

Let's not let reason get in the way of blindly defending malevolent billionaires acting in bad faith.

I don’t think anyone defended it

No, they just thought it was hilarious/just his Aspergers/some other joke of some kind.

It’s not just about defending it, it’s letting it be acceptable that’s just as bad. Anybody prominent hinting such a salute would be expected to grovel , resign and beg for forgiveness. But he’ll just swan on because Trumpie’s richest boi.

Struggling to understand what crime he’s committed to require pardoning for.

I think it's pre-emptive of a sort, given that those of a conspiracist nature who cannot possibly conceive that acts of nature can be worse than what humans do to each other will likely be looking to gun for him - there's not a criminal offence, but they'll try to make one up.

This removes any potential legal shenanigans.

We’ve had these conversations on this forum recently about how autism is not deterministic when it comes to terrible behaviours, and it should always be discussed with sensitivity as it can affect people’s lives.

On the other hand I think you can definitely attribute it to some of Musk’s bizarre actions, along with a lot of other reported bizarre things he does.

Absolutely, but you still hold people to account on appropriate behaviour in society.

I would say “get me off this planet” but Mars doesn’t look particularly appealing right now either given who wants to follow me there. Dont think the world has been feeling like such a political powder keg since in the 1930s.

Not gonna lie, mind, I did laugh this morning waking up to see all the old Rangers / Chelsea excuses of "it's a Roman salute!"

lol

If you're gonna be a fascist, at least be less of a coward about it and admit what you are.

Not quite got enough support/apathy/denial to go full "mask off" yet, I think.

It's a little worrying where we might be soon on that score, though.

Seeing some of the UK papers this morning which seem to celebrating Trump and I just don’t get it. If you like what he’s promised for America that’s one thing, if you like that he “owns the libs” that’s another thing, but I genuinely don’t understand how a European newspaper for a European county can celebrate someone who openly wants to stop backing Ukraine and just show Putin he can invade another European country, wait it out for 3 or 4 years then get what he wants and wants to set up huge tariffs on the EU, who even if we aren’t part of anymore are still by far and away our biggest trading partner.

I’m not being glib, I would genuinely like some arguments on how Trump is anything other than a bad thing for Europe and the UK.

I don't think it's that complex and you are only looking at it from one side of the coin. His core promise is to burn regulation and do business unleashed. Make it the wild west and ensure it is easier to operate in the spaces which are unregulated, or where regulation has not caught up, to make potential untold riches.

Which absolutely makes sense if you've got funding, ideas and need to get off the ground. It makes no sense to support him if you have very questionable competencies/work ethic and have happily done admin work 9-5 in a job which is extravagantly overpaid for your skillset for the last 27 years.

Those newspapers are all owned by billionaires with next to no moral compass who are cheering on Trump, Musk and their oligarch government.

One of them in particular has been one of the biggest drivers of right wing ideology in the USA for ages.

... or have any knowledge at all of where such short sighted self interested social Darwinism applied wholesale (in business or otherwise), leads a species.

The other side of the coin is understood perfectly - it's one where practically everyone loses.

Just checking - does anyone actually believe that musk did a nazi salute and knew that was what he was doing ??

I mean seriously ???

No of course he didn't do a Nazi salute LOL, he's on his big day out full of drugs. But he should've immediately come out and addressed the situation
