This absolute sewer-dweller saw a tragedy—an unspeakable act of violence and grief—and thought, “How can I twist this into fuel for my cheap, bigoted agenda?” It’s the moral equivalent of pissing on a fresh grave, but that’s Farage in a nutshell: a soulless, festering scab who can’t let a single moment of human suffering pass without squeezing it for his own gain. Its an opening gambit, so I doubt he expects anything like it.  Also I don't think Russia wants a deal with 200k Nato troops in Ukraine.  That said, we had way more than 10% our troops stationed in Germany not that long ago.

that is the conservatives justices saying "bring us challenges on contraceptive access, same sex relations and same sex marriage, and we will overturn them". trans people are the canary in the coalmine, part of a divide and conquer approach, and that's been the case since Obergefell passed in 2015. there's a reason why there was basically no support for north Carolina bathroom bills back in 2016, and why GRA reform was part of May's policy platform in 2017. the public opinion on trans rights was apathy, because we hadn't been subjected to a multi million propaganda blitz; which was entirely because it acted as a launch pad to attack LGBT rights as a whole. 

 

It should also be obvious why they're attacking LGBT rights as a whole, and it's the same reason why they put fetal personhood into the EO trying to define trans people out of existence: it's the ****ing birthrate. people transitioning aren't really having kids, men having sex with men and women having sex with women aren't "doing their duty" to reproduce. am I missing something here?   does this happen a lot ? 
 

Presumably this likely means that families of victims miss the perpetrator of the crime admitting their guilt because they probably doesn’t attend second hearings.  That surely  can’t be a major reason ??

I believe there are a lot of low-profile cases where the defendant changes their plea to guilty just before a trial.

One of the people who served jail time for taking part in the US Capitol riot four years ago has refused a pardon from President Donald Trump, saying: "We were wrong that day."

Pamela Hemphill, who pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 60 days in prison, told the BBC that there should be no pardons for the riot on 6 January 2021.

"Accepting a pardon would only insult the Capitol police officers, rule of law and, of course, our nation," she said.

"I pleaded guilty because I was guilty, and accepting a pardon also would serve to contribute to their gaslighting and false narrative."

Hemphill, who was nicknamed the "Maga granny" by social media users - in reference to Trump's "make America great again" slogan - said she saw the Trump government as trying to "rewrite history and I don't want to be part of that".

"We were wrong that day, we broke the law - there should be no pardons," she told the BBC World Service's Newsday programme.
