I actually hate how sceptical and negative I have become but that is how the current regime have made me feel. The way supporters have become nothing more than customers that the club will find each and every way to milk every last drop of cash from. The lack of transparency and communication, especially in regards to the significant failings in recent times, just makes me suspicious as to the motives, I truly believe the appointment of Cooper was nothing more than a cheap and cheerful appointment that wouldn’t rock the boat and certainly wouldn’t challenge the current decision makers. I hope I am wrong but I think names are being leaked to show our ambition when in reality they have no interest or are unattainable and once the window has closed the club will try to point who they tried to buy rather than who we did and some of me apologists will lap it all up. Or, yknow, we're doing a deal with him and his agent having agreed terms with Leverkusen but he's a 20 year old kid and it's a big decision, he needs a couple of days? ****ing hell people. 7 1 1

Anywhere else would be limited involvement off of the bench. I’d hope that our patterns of play are more complex than someone being able to pick it all up within a couple days. (Despite what we’ve seen pre season) a player who is at a very high level and can just do it on their own get be different

sbfox Posted 15 August 2024 Posted 15 August 2024 Has anyone pointed out that his name looks a bit like Hozelock yet?

I’ve said it a million times: half the dweebs on here cannot reconcile the difference between Football Manager and actual, real life. It took me weeks to sort out my new job and finalise a start date, and - believe me - no agents or transfer fees were involved. 1

I don't think the squad is where it needs to be, or that this is the opponent where he will try to force his style of play. I know people haven't been impressed preseason but he will be well aware of the dangers Spurs possess and how much of a cricket score it could be if we try and play against these. I reckon his first focus will be keeping it tight at the back and then trying to nick something at the other end. He will know full well what getting hammered at home will mean on the opening day against these lot.
AjcW Posted 15 August 2024 Posted 15 August 2024 I imagine the main reason it's taken longer is that it's gone from a loan to loan with obligation. Hlozek doesn't just have to think "find me a flat to stay in" this could easily be the next 5 years of his life in a country he's never lived in. I guess they're just going through all the player liason stuff and making sure he's happy with the obligation side of the deal.

Are you suggesting the player, his club and his agent have any say in it whatsoever? Ridiculous.

It's not even a long time, we found out of our interest less than 3 days ago. 1

Ric Flair Posted 15 August 2024 Posted 15 August 2024 Some fans would say the same when it gets to deadline day and we don't get deals across the line. The club are extremely concerned by how ill equipped we are and yet despite this we aren't able to get deals done quickly and efficiently and the downside to that is we likely gift the Premier League two head starts. Firstly in being the absolute pits until we get the necessary players in and secondly when the likely points deduction lands. It makes the task of staying up so much more difficult and why I question the types of signing we've seemingly tried to land this summer. 1

I agree on a lot of your frustrations, I really do. But whose to say he was available 3 months ago? Leverkusen will have been waiting to see how he did at the Euros, and then waiting to give him minutes in pre season.... and then waiting to perhaps get others in who would be better for them than Hlozek. Be a bit like someone at Sheffield United moaning that they didn't sign Cannon on loan two months ago, when in reality he'll only be available once we get Hlozek in.... You think it's a coincidence they got Terrier in last week and then Hlozek became a target? Edited 15 August 2024 by AjcW 1

Claudio Fannieri Posted 15 August 2024 Posted 15 August 2024 It’s not bed wetting or pant pissing, I no longer trust or have any confidence in the current regime managing and running our club. if we can conclude this deal I will be absolutely delighted as he is a great prospect, however personally I don’t think it will happen and have merely stated my reasons why, perhaps I should keep my opinions quiet and just smile and clap along when directed 👍🏼 3

Everything. We're four days from the start of the season and are massively light and unprepared.

Please just blame Rudkin for being shit.

You think it's a coincidence they got Terrier in last week and then Hlozek became a target? He might not have been of course - but I'm not talking about this in isolation. People's frustrations are how ill prepared we are and now we're panicking at the last minute in reaction to the game ln Saturday. We've literally had more time to prepare than every single club in the Premier league. Its a total mess and this is yet another example of it.
LestaLad Posted 15 August 2024 Posted 15 August 2024 It’s crazy how much more excited and optimistic I felt when I seen the initial links to Fotis, Zaha and then Hlozek. I actually felt like there was something to look forward to. But now we probs won’t get the first 2, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Hlozek rejects us. 2

Really? You are right to have concerns with the way the club has been run, that is beyond dispute surely? But three days is not a long time in any transfer. We cannot judge other teams so readily as we do not scrutinise them to same level as we scrutinise our own club.

No, it's got nothing to do with it. Us being light on players, doesn't suddenly mean this transfer is taking a long time.
