Congratulations on your conference league fairytale Forest fans. Certainly one to tell the grandkids about

Expectation vs reality.

Its quite incredible that either Spurs or United will qualify for the Champions league next season, considering their league position.

It's a terrible rule that needs to change. If they win it they should have the right to defend it. Not automatically go into a better competition.

Especially with teams no longer dropping into the Europa league it is so weak. Teams can basically sacrifice the premier league and still get into the champions league.

Spurs can't afford to lose the final. If they lose (99.99%) they'll be for sure in a relegation battle next season with a hugely depleted squad which was already near Championship quality.

They can survive on 30-35  points as the 3 coming up won't get that.

They’ve got the 7th biggest wage bill in the league - they've just massively underperformed, like us in 22/23.

Romero will be gone in the summer too, that defence isn’t improving any time soon.

I started out with FC Noah but thought Armenia might actually be a good tale to tell.

Rushing out of work to drive an hour and a half to the New Meadow to watch Ryan Yates play against The New Saints is funnier.

Teams finishing fifth in the league and qualifying for the CL makes me far more uneasy to be honest.

Absolutely. At least the Europa League teams have actually won something to get there. Finishing four places and twenty odd points off behind the champions shouldn't put you in the same competition imo.

I'd go further and cap it at four - if that means only the top two qualify along with the Europa League winner and a Champions League winner who don't finish in the top two bump out third and fourth, so be it. It makes the Europa League more attractive.

It’s ridiculous, I’m sure the authorities are fully aware of this but it’s another back door entry for one of the greedy clubs if they happen to have an off season and miss out on qualification.

Same has the new champions league format, allows teams to get their shit together if they have a difficult start, can afford to lose four matches and still get to the knockout stages. It’s just ensuring the greedy teams can bounce back from any shock results.

Since when big wages mean quality players? Except Son there isn't a single player there I would have signed to be part of the Leicester team when we missed CL football twice. Madisson is a good player but he's way too soft and lazy.

Can’t believe Sky and Forest fans had the audacity to compare themselves to the 15/16 team.

More like Burnley 17/18.

Forest fans simply don't inhabit the same world as the rest of us. This is a fanbase who spent the 40th anniversary of the 1979 European Cup final in Nottingham pubs watching the old Betamax copy of it as if it were live.

There's another question: How much can this Spurs team spend to improve whilst they're already in a huge debt? Or how much are they allowed to spend from now on? They will have to rebuild the squad surely?

To be fair they also won a couple of cup games on penalties. Let's not do them a disservice.
