Forest are light years ahead of us

They’re not light years. They’ve a manager who’s using his squad properly. As we did in when we won the PL. it makes a mockery of what teams obsess over being modern football. All this ****ing about trying to play perfect football. I’d much prefer we played like this.

Yeah give me one season as Champions over 10 seasons on the top 6

Still unforgivable how far we've fallen though

It’s absolutely disgraceful lol. I think I said in another thread we were never going to stay at the top forever but to throw it away like we have should’ve resulted in a certain few losing jobs

We ****ed it the very next window after the title win. Then had a resurgence under the poisonous dwarf who then became more important than the club

Not even four years ago we were in a completely different galaxy to them. Things can change very quickly in football.

They've let in as many goals as us, and could be more by the end of this game. Let's not pretend they aren't shit

We were defensively awful under O'Neil, but we've also scored more goals than Villa, Forest, Man Utd and Fulham.

I'm not too concerned about tonight. We've created good chances that we should have converted. But have been hamstrung by a makeshift defence that has 3 out of 5 first choice defenders out, a LB playing CB, and a first choice DM out.

Looked like Yates elbowed Strand-Larsen in the back of the head then. Mad how you pay a top rated chief referee to be part of your Club, then you get things going your way after.

Newcastle and Villa are big clubs who will always be close enough to know they'll be back if they slide.

Forest and Brighon, like us, are smaller flash in the pan teams but like you say we have a league and cup to show for it. Of course, Forest's last flash in the pan got them a league and 2 European cups which is fair enough for any of their fans over 45 years old to enjoy.

Yep. We’ve totally destroyed so many years of work but at the end of the day we have actually won stuff.

So many clubs have a few years of success then fade away again. We’ll always have trophies to show for it. That’s what I’ve started telling myself when I let the current Leicester annoy me

Also agree that the title win and the FA Cup win were never going to see us establish a period of dominance, but Christ it would have been nice to deteriorate with a little more grace than we did!

Upcoming fixtures are horrendous though, can't see you picking up much in the next 5 or 6. Of course it might not matter as the rest of us are shit too

The thing is that we could conceivably finish 16th or 17th, they could finish 8th and see their team dismantled to comply with PSR and we're both on pretty much the same footing next season.

It's really only the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal who are 'light years' ahead of the rest.

That 2016 summer transfer window will always be the biggest “what if” I know we won stuff after but what could’ve been.

Or you invert that and say it was 3/4 years of competency that pushed us forward

We wouldn't have become one of the Big Six, sadly. Probably closer to where Villa are now for an extended spell.

Sometimes I think as a fanbase we don’t quite realise what has happened lol. Well that’s how I feel personally anyway.

I know everybody gets onto the likes of Rudkin, Top etc but I would seriously love to just talk to them and find out why everything has happened the way it has.

Makes me think they were just as in disbelief as everyone else and accepted that we had completed football.

So what have we learned tonight?

Forest are going to dominate English football for the next 30 years, Ipswich and Wolves are wonderful sides who play majestic football and we're destined for league one
