Chap near me said it doesn’t help to boo him when he missed the penalty.

Whilst he is right. It’s also not helpful starting him and playing him for 70+ minutes every week!

Had enough of him and his footballing ‘ability’

Booing him is not meant to help him it’s meant to help me vent.

At this point he needs to do a Danny Ward and ask the boss to be pulled from the team for his own good and for the sake of everyone else watching or playing alongside.

Danny Ward did that?

Ayew just wants to win free kicks. That’s his first, second and third thought before maybe thinking about doing something positive with the ball. That’s pretty much where all of his energy goes. He often doesn’t look for at the ball, he aims to make contact with the defender and then pretend he’s been fouled. Probably explains why he is rarely in the right position when a cross comes in -

rather than seeking out the ball he’s looking for a defender to instigate contact with. Not sure why he wants to win free kicks for us, we are terrible at them!

Still remember Palace fans saying we’d grow to love him. Cant remember a single player apart from Lookman who the fans were against from the start who went on to be good. This is another case of the fans knowing better then the club

Do you think Ayew has the awareness that he is shit? There is no way he would sacrifice himself for the greater good when he won't pass to a team mate in a better scoring position.

David Speedie. What a name to pull out the bag 😂

From villain to playing a big part on our promotion season. Even getting sent of in the play off semi final turned out good for us as we silenced the rams.

That name has cheered me up a little.

Great shout. Went on to be a Legemd. Another shout would be Izzet. I remember a lot of negative 'who' comments. Went on to be a favourite

I remember Walsh and taggart testing our patience at the start too.

Maybe there will be a Jordan Ayew renaissance?

... Just kidding

Casual fans are better at transfers than our actual board.

Probably because those fans actually care for the club.

I think a monkey with a pin and a list of championship players would have had a better return than our recruitment department in recent years

Funny that isn’t it.

So many fans saying what an abomination of a signing it was.

I've grown to dislike Palace more and more with every game that this lumbering lardarse plays for us. I think I declared my mental gymnastics about why he's actually OK officially over a few weeks back and can confirm I was a fool to ever try to justify his inclusion. As far as I'm concerned, Daka is the only striker at our club... and if that isn't the most depressing thought imaginable, I don't know what is.

Hopefully they do actually spaff £50 million on a player as average as Strand Larsen and it becomes the start of their own financial oblivion and enshittification of their squad. Be nice if they're signing our shit cast-offs in five years' time instead.

On recent history....i high chance....

We feel it works out cheaper to not spunk money on buying a player... it equates to a free transfer and thats smashing business sense ......(rubs hands together)

Jamie Vardy...

But yeah Ayew, had bad signing written all over it from day one. Couldn't believe it when he was announced. Shithouse.

Were fans against Jamie Vardy when he signed? They were after 5 plus games but not before he had actually signed

I've never been able to tolerate him, at any club. I don't think, given what he's supposed to offer a side (as much as I don't get it), that he's been as bad as some say. I simply think he's about as far removed from an archetypal Leicester City player as anyone could be. As a fanbase we just don't appreciate the qualities that people like Ayew bring in the same way as other fanbases might. Or might have half a decade ago. Maybe.

And, of course, on top of all that he's not been very good.

But it's the nature of the player himself which is indicative of a very serious problem at the club. LCFC has a culture which long precedes Top and King Power. Our fans have always responded to blood, thunder, power, pace, a never-say-die spirit. Ayew can never embody that.

But Top's vision, going back to when KP allegedly pushed Pearson out in 2010, has always been to reinvent us as a purist's team. We were told, a year or two after we won the title by playing very Pearson-esque football, that Top's vision of the game was the only way to be a 'sustainable' PL force. And it's coloured our recruitment for years. From Vestergard to Faes to Soumare to Winks to Ayew, we've inundated ourselves with players that Matt Elliott might term as 'strollers' - technically gifted, but easy to get at, and unable at times to perform basic functions.

When he was interviewed on Sky, Top literally credited himself with creating our title-winning success in his first sentence. It's that failure to understand that, no you didn't and, no, you as an owner don't get to dictate what the culture of a 142-year-old football club is - and that your notion of footballing culture was never responsible for any of our success - which has got us where we are today.

And, inevitably, this disconnect and delusion leads to people like Jordan Ayew donning the shirt.
