Swarles Barkley Posted 15 March Posted 15 March We’re at the Danny Ward territory of booing him so he’s out the team 3

niyaminski Posted 16 March Posted 16 March He also tried to rugby tackle (and injure?!?!) Jordan James after he scored. Quite odd.
The boy Linacre Posted 16 March Posted 16 March Jordan Ayew encapsulates the term stealing a living. My belief is Football is a game of movement, not in his mind. Does show A LOT of stupid people in Football Villa goal every 5 games, (9 in 51), Swansea goal over 5+ games (8 in 50), Palace loan goal every 20!!!! (1 in 20) Palace goal every 9 games (21 in 175), Lestah goal every 5+ (10 in 55) dropping down a division. For those that remember, Roger Davies, he sent us down too, not twice though. 1

Tbf he was mainly back up for them and never seen as a centre forward. Shows how far we’ve fallen and how flawed our transfer plan is that we sign a non goalscorer who isn’t naturally a number 9 and play him only as a number 9. I still think it’s bizarre how popular he was at Palace, same as I’m surprised by the glowing references that The Ghost of Bobby Reid got from Fulham fans. 2

Ayew is sat 5 feet away from him without a care in the world. I brought this up yesterday and surprised more haven't picked up on it. Earlier in the game the crowd were yelling at Ayew to press, and he suddenly woke up and pushed their defenders back to the keeper. In this instance Ayew doesn't move from this spot. Made worse that Nelson has been caught napping and forgotten about the offside trap. The guy is so lazy.

"bUt dAkA hAs SqUaRe BoOtS" Daka's contract is expiring but he's never stopped putting any effort in, plays as part of the team and actually plays where a striker should. He's never been prolific but it's starting to become the Ward/iversen of 25/26. The latter isn't amazing but can fulfil the basic function required whilst the former gets picked and costs us games. Daka has 3 goals (no penalties) in 16.7 nineties (13 starts). Ayew has 3 non-penalty goals in 24 starts (and nineties). 0.19 np-goals per ninety vs 0.13 np-goals. Daka also has the same number of assists as Ayew (3). 2

But the bloke will run about a bit. 1
brookfox Posted 16 March Posted 16 March In his defence, he’s absolutely smashed the False 9 role this season. 1

I ddin't want Ayew in the PL because he basically never scores or assists, because he's lost any pace he did have he's somehow defaulted to being a striker?? It's the sort of thing if you put this to people in 2021 they'd just laugh it off but these things keep happening. To make it worse we often play another paceless winger centrally because he isn't suited to being out wide anymore. I thought Rowett would be a to back-to-basics, round pegs manager but he's been Cifunetes 2.0 so far faffing about with a false 9 and players out of position. Maybe the idea he isn't picking the team is correct. 3

He doesn't score goals, he doesn't create goals, attacks break down when he has the ball, we can never set up an effective press with him in the side (because he doesn't think about what he's doing), he's weak, doesn't win headers and is no where near as fast as people claim him to be. 4 minutes ago, Tommy Fresh said: Has anyone said anything different though? We know for a fact that we're not getting anything other than a bit of mindless pressing with Daka. We ought to at least have given someone like Otchere or Hutchinson a go by now but the problem is that it's not fair to throw a young lad in at the deep end. Every side plays to the strengths of their striker yet that's impossible for us because our strikers are dog shit with no strengths whatsoever outside of Daka's willingness to run around like a headless chicken. The problem with that is that you can't play Daka with wingers like Mavididi and Fatawu because they are unwilling to join in with a press. 1
