Haven't you heard.... apparently there's no clause in his contract that Leicester can terminate his contract and send him back in January.

Only way is if Palace want him back, but it's being said they don't want him as Leicester have paid a full seasons signing on loan fee

There's no clause because you can't put a clause like that in a Prem to Prem loan deal.

The loan rules are pretty clear about how a loan can be terminated early.

Hmm..  Terminated.... Can we send Arnie back to Jun 2024 and have him kill....

...nevermind.

Though saying that there are rumours going around that Chelsea are looking to recall Chalobah from Palace.

Recalls ok. Backsies, no.

Everything except Bilal was an absolute cluster **** about this summer.

The absolute opposite of the summer before.

Illustrates how over reliant we are on the manager to dictate transfer philosophy.

We're desperate for a sporting director. At this point I don't even care if Rudkin stays. We can just move him upwards or sideways or whatever else they want to do. Just employ someone to do what a DOF does at every other ****ing club.

Absolutely spot on mate.

I have been super consistent about rating our summer window as 1/10 and stick with it due to the urgency of getting it right but clogged up the squad with little/minimal resale value too.

A lot on here though seem to think Cooper is exempt from any involvement with our signings 🙈

We're all begging for January signings but what's the point given this is our track record? We'll just end up ballsing it up again.

Yeah this is my school of thinking too. If we made 2 or 3 signings this window the track record of recent recruitment would suggest it would do more harm than good. KWP is the only rumour that seems sensible and would improve us immediately. The rest are too risky to trust King Power with.

He can only play for Leicester City and/or Crystal Palace until 1/7/25.

"Abroad" doesn't matter, it's a FIFA rule. Players can only be registered for two clubs in a season.

Can't you play for 3 clubs if one of those clubs is in a summer league country (e.g. MLS with its February-October season) and the other two are winter leagues like the PL?

"As an exception to this rule, a player moving between two clubs belonging to associations with overlapping seasons (i.e. start of the season in summer/autumn as opposed to winter/spring) may be eligible to play in official matches for a third club during the relevant season, provided he has fully complied with his contractual obligations towards his previous clubs." Funny how pretty much everyone could see this would be an absolute failure

To play devil's advocate, pretty much everyone thought Kante, Mahrez and especially Vardy would fail.

Considering I fancy that 99% of people hadn't seen any of them play, I'd be surprised.

Whereas we're all aware of what level Eduoard is and how highly rated he was by a mid table team that couldn't wait to get rid.

Vardy was absolutely destroyed on here.

The point being our fans aren't exactly the oracle when it comes to signings. The knowledge consists of 213 hours played on Football Manager and a few highlights shows from South America.

Are we talking about pre-signing or while they were here.

Cus your Mahrez and Kante examples don't work if we're talking about the months after their arrival.

The only negativity about Mahrez’s arrival was about his genuinely dreadful haircut

I don't remember Kante's signing being lambasted either.  As I recall, his stats were off the charts in France and he needed some convincing to come here,  we had to fight Marseille for him and we were pleased to get him.  I think Ranieri's appointment is a better example of when fans get it wrong.  That could be a thread of all of its own.

Back to the Edouard loan, I seem to remember Sheff Utd sending back Luke Thomas, I thought that any club could terminate a loan deal, unless our loan agreement has been Rudkined?

Pretty sure it's down to the 2 clubs to decide on recall/cancellation clauses between themselves.

It's no surprise that Rudkin came out 2nd best in both negotiations though is it.

Abdul, Ayew, Bounanotte and Bilal are all good signings.

Okoli / Golding - might turn out okay but we spent too much on potential.

Skipp / BDR - haven’t improved the team and Skipp was our marquee signing.

edouard - if we can send him back isn’t a disaster. Palace offered him a new contract also.

I was talking about before but I certainly remember Mahrez being called not good enough a lot. Pearson benched him quite a bit in the great escape season for not tracking back enough didn't he?

I just meant our fans aren't exactly a barometer for whether a player will be any good or not.

Haha yeah as a general rule I think that's a fair analysis to be honest.

There are some that are painfully obviously bad business though. The one's that tend to turn out to be poor on a consistent basis are when we sign played deemed surplus to requirements by teams in our league.

I think the only one we've probably got right is Huth and his was more down to being injured for a while and losing  his place in the squad, rather than naturally falling down the pecking order.

Plenty were saying to cash in on Vardy after the great escape season.

Plenty of people boo'd Mahrez when he played against us for Man City lol
