Play him whilst we are in still in the Prem and if you use Nwaneri as an example he then becomes a £30 million saleable asset. Isn’t that the business model that the club should be striving for with the investment at Seagrave?

The Paul McGuinness appointment was brilliant and to me a real sign that the club wanted to really start putting serious effort into developing the academy

He left in September 2022 and as far as I am aware he still hasn’t been replaced

Agree. Don’t invest in the bricks and mortar if you don’t bring in best of class coaches to bring through talent into the first team and raise funds from talent you sell on.

Quick simplification for our fans...

'doo-doo-doo, monga'

Credit to Ruud here, he obviously saw instantly that this lad is a serious prospect, immediately brought him into the first team training sessions, publicly praised his ability, and is now giving him a direct route to the first team, which if he plays some minutes will massively help us if Monga decides to leave and we negotiate compensation.
Can't fault his approach on Monga so far.

If we were midtable and mediocre next season but started with Stolarcyzk in goal, Nelson at CB, Alves or Braybrooke in midfield and Monga/Evans got decent minutes off the bench it'd instil a bit of life into this dead club.

We are in a really great position (potentially) to have a proper blend of Academy youth and experienced players, and I think the experienced players we will likely have are at the top end of the Championship in terms of ability, so it could work out to be a bit of a silver lining should we go down. It could be our "reset", then again, I thought 23/24 could have been that and we struggled to offload the deadwood.

Why not the same with Alves?

Clearly we have to get him minutes. Even just a couple of minutes are the end of a game we're losing 3-0 is worth it. If it convinces him to stay, great. If he still leaves then it affects his value at tribunal

If RvN gets serious about blooding our academy players then stick by him for next season IMO.

That would be something that could easily swing me toward him again, a manager having a clear direction for the future and wanting to build us back into a club that invests young and sells to big clubs for huge profits is absolutely essential to a club the size of ours.
He just NEEDS to fix these silly match day decisions and I will come back on board.

Not sure, Ideally I'd have liked us to throw him into the squad given how poor some of our players have been, however this is Maresca, Cooper and now Ruud who have all overlooked him whilst complimenting his ability, so maybe they just feel the loan would be better for him. With Monga my guess is this is purely to get him involved with the hope he sticks around, Alves has a contract with us and doesn't have the best clubs in the world circling him, whereas Monga is at an age where turning his head toward the glitz and glamour of spain or top prem clubs would be easier, so we have to show him he has a route to premier league football with us. We do need a good balance of play time but also shielding him from the limelight. For the sake of the club we need him to play enough games to keep him here (or get a good compensation fee) but not play him so much he proves the hype and we end up losing him before he can even sign a pro contract.

Maybe, just maybe, Alves hasn't recovered particularly well from injury and isn't where we all want him to be.

Or more likely, Alves will (no pun intended) go out on loan and be getting minutes every week and a massive chunk of playing time, certainly more than he'd get here. Whereas Evans/Monga might be in the odd squad/get a few minutes but unlikely they'll feature heavily in terms of minutes.

Lots of us thought Braybrooke was the real deal but couldnt get game time with Dundee, massive step up for young players

Happens though. In his case, he obviously lacks the physicality for that league and so if you're not an established player, it can be hard to break into the team. Plus you can factor in that the lower the level, the more people's livelihoods are on the line and less likely to take risks. As I understand it, the view was that it was either Braybrooke or Sylla who was going to play, and Sylla is considered their best player so that won't have helped.

Massively disappointing loan for him and likely to cause a setback, but I'm not placing too much stock in it. He's had absolutely shocking luck with the injury and not being given a chance when he should have done, and no matter how talented you are, it's largely down to luck and timing.

You only have to see how we've dealt with the departure of the last two U21 managers. Basically temporarily filled them with the assistant and just carried on and they quietly take it on permanently. It's very much half arsed.

All employment has been half-arsed and done on as much of a budget as possible...bar some ridiculously unsuitable HODs.

Sounds harsh but we should stop bothering with acedemies if our best prospects will just get poached anyway. Brentford did the right thing in ditching theirs.

Should do away with Seagrave too seeing as the team clearly doesn't do anything with the training.

I swear, just let them rock up hungover on matchday with a carrier bag containing four Tennants, 20 B&H and a half eaten Zinger burger.

It’s a funny one, but going away and failing could be exactly what he needs.

The lad will have been pampered at Seagrave and might have started to think that sort of life was guaranteed so dealing with being miles from home and being on the bench at shit hole stadiums might help.
