I get the sentiment but there's an argument to be made that our biggest wastes of cash have predominantly come from English clubs, shopping badly is shopping badly

Not from the EFL they havent. Signing from fellow Prem teams is a waste

We’d rather sign players from abroad then take exceptional, hungry young players from the EFL. In recent times Watkins, Eze, Olise, Wharton, Rogers, Bowen etc have all stepped up. We last signed a player in 2019 from an EFL club while in the Prem. There is no value in signing from fellow Prem teams as they are already on ridiculous wages. Its just a poor scouting system/approach from the club

Yeah I don't disagree, we just waste cash everywhere though, it's not limited to abroad.
