Forest's achievement this season is nowhere near what you achieved in 15/16, BUT.... they have proved to be consistent all season, playing a way that suits their squad just as you did. and not just a flash in the pan.

If there were as many teams having a poor, below par rebuilding season as in 15/16, then they might well have been challenging for the league. There's a lot of competition for the top 4 this season and you can't deny it will be an excellent achievement if they manage to secure CL football. As I said, not as big as yours but a very good one nonetheless.

You are never going to get this forum openly praising them and their achievements. What annoys me, and a lot of others, is that we have fallen so far behind them (and other clubs) in such a short space of time and it doesn't appear to be changing soon.

A one-off season I think we could just about cope with but we have buggered up at basically the wrong time with PSR taking huge effect.

I think it's unlikely that Manchester City will be as poor next season. I'd expect more consistency from Villa, Chelsea and Newcastle as well. This, coupled with Forest having to balance European football and likely bids for key players  means that a one-off season is likely exactly what it is for them.

It will be a very, very difficult situation for them because of that.

Players like Aina, Milenkovic, Murillo and Gibbs-White will definitely attract interest from bigger clubs who are more established at that level.

Even without that, they have the dilemma of either giving lucrative new contracts to the above, letting them go for as much money as possible and trying to replace them or try to keep what they have and add to it in the hope that they're capable of repeating this season.

And we of all clubs know that the model of letting a big name go and trying to replace them on the cheap is a gamble; either you don't manage to sell anyone and end up with the same squad while others around you strengthen, or you sell a key player and pray that his replacement is at least as good. The latter is more likely to work, but a hell of a gamble. Our inability to replace Kante and Mahrez cost us dearly for years, but one bad transfer window when we looked like we were at our peak was fatal.

Sorry but this just isn’t true.

Spurs and Man U have declined beyond recognition from what they were in 2016 (not saying they were great then).

Man City are way off what they were then. Arsenal possibly par, a strong second.

Chelsea were shocking and finished 10th so they are better.

Liverpool obviously the outstanding side.

Even if Forest won every game remaining they would only match our total so I don’t think you can claim they would be near the title as overall, the former so called big 6 have declined a lot further than they were in 2016.

Draw's perfect, if Bournemouth get through they're even more of a bogey team for them than they are for us.

They haven't given much of a shit about PSR previously! Though UEFA have much more stringent rules and haven't been afraid to kick people out of Europe before.

We got charged and fined when we got into the Europa League for one season. You get punished for getting good too quickly without the revenue to back it up.

their season is on par with our 2021 season, and they havent won the fa cup yet. could even say 2020 season too.

Just need to face facts Forest will win the FA cup and qualify for the champions league…. This season may as well be a Halloween special. To quote Miriam Margolyes “it’s a ****ing nightmare”.

Frankly, if a Sex Offenders XI were in the semis I'd prefer them to win it over Forest.

Hopefully Bournemouth win this.

Semi finals are going to be a good watch. Either a new team wins it or a team that hasn’t won it in years.

What a season to be in it.

But we as fans only have ourselves to blame. I’ve sympathy about our situation whatsoever
