Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing midfielder Harry Winks, who has rebuilt his career at Leicester City after leaving Tottenham in the summer of 2023.

The 28-year-old England international, who has won 10 caps for his country, has been a mainstay of the Foxes midfield since his £10million move to the King Power Stadium after Leicester were relegated during the 2022/23 campaign.

Winks played a major role as the East Midlands outfit bounced straight back to the Premier League under Enzo Maresca, scoring twice in 48 appearances in all competitions.

September is a New Start! Sign Up for MAN v FAT and Leave Summer Weight Behind

The former Spurs man continues to be a key cog in Steve Cooper’s engine room after Maresca quit Leicester for Chelsea, although the pressure is mounting on the current Foxes boss after a tough start to the new season.

For Winks though, his stock is back on the rise again and Spanish publication Fijaches suggests that United are weighing up a move for the player in January as Ten Hag is keen to bring in another midfielder.

The Fijaches report claims that Ten Hag believes that Winks would be a great fit for the style of play at Old Trafford, while he would also be a relatively cheap option for sporting director Dan Ashworth to pursue.

The midfielder’s current contract runs out in the summer of 2026 and although that means Leicester could push for a significant fee for his services, they are only likely to recoup what they paid.

Winks does have the ability to play several different midfield roles and is as comfortable pushing forward as a No.10 as he is sitting in front of the defence as the midfield pivot.

Manchester United are reportedly interested in Leicester City midfielder Harry Winks.

The 28-year-old has enjoyed somewhat of a renaissance over the past 12 months since making the high-profile switch from Tottenham Hotspur to the Foxes on a permanent deal.

Winks, who possesses too much talent to spend longer than a campaign in the Championship, helped Leicester to the second-tier title under Enzo Maresca last term.

The former Spurs youngster continues to be an important cog in Steve Cooper's Foxes side, playing every single minute of his team's Premier League schedule to date.

Despite Winks's best efforts from the base of midfield, Leicester are yet to enjoy their maiden victory of the league term, collecting three points from five top-flight matches so far.

If we could get the £20m that we spent on Skipp then i'd consider that a win.

But I would like to see Winks in the Premier League with a proper manager. Enzo would have him in the England team.

Obviously he'd probably have his head turned by Man Utd but if we were to only get back what we paid, we should just turn down any bid like that instantly.

He's worth far more than that to us now.

Not exactly surprising. He's done his season in the Championship. I wouldn't fancy another one next season either.

If we can get around £30m for him I'd be more than happy. Skipps better in my opinion and Wilf is more energetic (somewhat unbelievably).

Hopefully by the next window we'll have a more attacking minded manager anyway so won't need as many deeper midfield options

A third rate source and typical foxestalk saying if we can get 30 million for him I'd sell?  Winks has been one of our better players, there is no way at this moment in time will we sell him, especially in January.

£20mil for a midfielder who doesnt offer much out of possession when we no longer have a possession focused manager represents good value for us surely? If that offer was on the table we would be silly to not take it and reinvest.

It just isn't happening especially this season, it's crap clickbait nonsense.  Why would Winks leave us to go to them to sit on their bench.

We might need the money by then.

Depends how we sit in the league as well.

But I'm sure there's no truth in it.

Had a good first half season in the Championship. From January onwards this calendar not been great. £30m would buy us a better midfielder however the issue is this club would not find that player.
