Ah the classic "we'll be fine" defence.

As opposed to the "we're doomed" attack.

At least that opinion has some statistical backing, unlike the irrational heads in the sand approach of saying we're not in the relegation zone with 75% of the season still to go so everything will be OK.

Statics in football are often a load of nonsense, much prefer the reality of where we are in the league

You've had to dig up some meaningless xG stat to try and prove were destined to be relegated.

The "rational " football experts on here predicted we'd be rock bottom at this stage, they dont have a great track record with predictions.Forgive if I don't take much notice of their opinions.

Getting really boring now and seems we have a core desperate for us to lose and get relegated just so they can post on social media i told you so. The guy took the job on, he may have been 1st, 2nd or 10th choice and we could go around in circles what we could have, should have done and we could have got XYZ we didn't as nobody seemed to want the job. Look at the squad we went down with and tell me the current squad is anywhere close. The guy has made mistakes and got plenty wrong but yesterday he picked the team pretty much everybody pre match wanted on here. Told he is a decent coach maybe he is maybe he isn't but we have a team of professional footballers incredibly well paid many being experienced internationals. So he is at fault when they don't mark their man, or do not track back,or let someone come in behind them, leave people free at corners, not being able to pass the ball to someone wearing the same colour shirt, underhit or overhit a pass, overhit or underhit a cross, pushing forward passing behind players and not hitting balls for them to run on to. Could go on and on but this is Cooper's fault and if it does go right he gets lucky and the players have bailed him out. Much to the distess of some the equalizer was some goal and if Liverpool, Barcelona or Man City had scored it the press would be waxing lyrical over it. So we are stuck with this guy who has gotten us safe at the moment with 10pts. Mckenna is apparently a class act as a manager just think if it was Cooper who kept that walking red card Kalvin Phillips on yesterday. We got lucky apparently that he got sent off an elite manager i would hope should have spotted his actions and replaced him. Cooper is not the worst manager in the division but is probably the most despised. Would have thought any potential manager or their well paid agents would spend looking at clubs media/fan base/forums etc to see the mood of supporters. Any potential new manager needs to be aware some fans expect us to be top 6.

A lot of letters and words used here with very little said imho

Ridiculous comment

today was the epitome of grinding out a point

lol

The ref not giving probably one of the most blatant penalties I've ever seen, and then Ipswich losing a player 10 seconds later lol

The game was only heading in one direction till that moment.

McKenna got it massively wrong afterwards though and it felt inevitable we'd score. He pulled a Cooper and sat back far too deep inviting wave after wave of attacks.

They're not though.  This is just an outdated perception because it doesn't fit with what you want to believe.  Whilst I agree to an extent in that there are too many stats being constantly introduced. But Tony Blooms entire business ethos relies on stats such as xG, he's made himself a billionaire, his data driven model has gotten Brighton to where they are and his data driven model is the envy of the majority of clubs in the transfer market. It's all down to interpretation of statistics.

Brentford and Brighton rocket through the leagues based on data, Foxestalk: "nah load of rubbish mate, don't need it".

So you are conveniently

  • Ignoring  what should have been a red card on Facundo (Var kept the referee’s on field decision)
  • Not accepting the second yellow for Phillips (Var again kept the on field referee’s decision)
  • Not accepting the referee’s decision that the Fatawu ‘shoulder’ was not a foul (Again, var kept the referee’s on field decision)

Var eh?  lol

I’m not a Cooler fan mainly for a lot of the line ups we put out. However the players are the ones who continuously lose their man and don’t track back. We give silly fouls away constantly and Ipswich should have had a nailed on pen. However yesterday the subs were spot on the tracking back and attack in one movement from Soumare was top drawer and led to the goal. As I said I’m not a cooper fan but he is what we have so we need to get behind him. And maybe just maybe we can improve each game.

Not sure anybody is dismissing the fact that the stats do not make encouraging reading and it is undeniable that using statistics dictates we should be either doing worse, or are due a tumble. Though at the same time, either by some witchcraft or some unconsidered metric, we are doing ok.

But why can’t both things be true? Stats say it’s poo, reality says bite me.

It doesn't matter who the manager is, people come here to hate. If Cooper had won every game these people would be hating Rudkin instead.

There's nothing wrong with fair criticism, it's just the irrational bullsh1t that winds me up.

The truth!!!

The article looks AI-generated?..

I think around 50% are now.

Someone has most likely picked up on fans unrest on here and generated something.

I mean, here’s mine from ChatGBT

—————————————————————————

The frustration among fans on Foxestalk is palpable as many express their discontent with Steve Cooper’s management at the club. What started with cautious optimism has turned into widespread concern, and the consensus is that Cooper is failing to meet expectations on several fronts. Fans are quick to point out his uninspiring tactics, questionable team selections, and a playing style that many are describing as downright boring.

The style of play has been a particular sore point. Cooper’s approach has left fans underwhelmed, with many complaining that games lack the intensity, flair, and attacking ambition that have characterized successful teams in the past. Instead of a fast-paced, engaging approach, fans feel they’re watching a team that’s static, predictable, and far too conservative. Passes move sideways or backward with little urgency, and it seems there’s a reluctance to take risks or press high. This has led to games that are not just disappointing in terms of results, but also difficult to watch.

One of the biggest criticisms lies in Cooper’s team selection. From benching fan favorites to sticking with out-of-form players, his choices have left fans baffled. Many feel there’s a lack of balance in the squad, with key players either playing out of position or not being given the chance to contribute. Fans on Foxestalk are quick to point out that Cooper doesn’t seem to know his best starting XI and often appears to play it safe rather than make bold decisions. There’s a growing perception that Cooper isn’t getting the best out of his players or adapting his tactics to suit their strengths.

The tipping point for many could come with the upcoming fixture against Ipswich. Speculation is rife that Cooper is on thin ice, and a poor result might force the club’s hand in making a managerial change. The fans are clear in their stance—anything short of a convincing win against Ipswich could be the final straw for Cooper’s tenure. There’s a feeling that if he can’t inspire the team to step up now, he may never be able to.

Ultimately, the unrest among fans reflects a deep sense of disappointment and a desire for change. Cooper arrived with expectations of energizing the club, but instead, it seems he’s sucked the life out of both the team and its supporters. As the Ipswich game looms, Foxestalk is filled with anticipation, but for many, it’s less about the hope of victory and more about the hope for a fresh start.

so no blame at all on Cooper then? picking JJ for so many games when he was woeful, he is a part of the issue, its clear

also no leicester expects us to be top 6, thats just moronic and stupid to think that, all we want is decent performances but we have got too many, we've had it in parts

we seem to get hammered and hang on.....and that isnt sustainable at all
