75% is far too high for any resolution, especially one the Trust is briefing against.

Time for a new group?

The 75% threshold is set by the Societies and Communities Act. That is the framework rule(s) within all groups of this nature.

Are there really only 233 members? I assumed there were thousands of people with how much people go on.

Oh 590 members with just under 39.5% voting.

That's terrible. Why would you bother paying and joining up to not vote on something like this?

Shocked that so few bothered to vote . What’s the point of the trust if no one is interested.

need a new group that people can relate to

this is going nowhere

I wonder how many of the folks who didn’t vote never received the link to vote. I, along with plenty of others, had to reach out to the Trust for a voting link even though I’ve been on every one of their distributions since I joined the Trust.

I all seriousness the only way forward is a completely new organisation that can attract the younger generation and hopefully be a bit more partisan.

The reform group has three board seats... we did not oppose Lynn's re election.   More  seats will become available and the board will be pro reform by this time next year.

In the meantime we are urging the trust to give up its fear of the club.  This approach has got nowhere.   The trust should walk away from the current fab...  the club control it and use it as a fig leaf 🍃 .

I get your point of view... give us 12 months and the trust will be publically holding the club to account and representing all fans.  The reform group has made progress and will succeed.  Join the trust and vote with us.

I already did join and did vote. Unfortunately hundreds of others couldn't be ****ed.

I don't see how the Trust gets any sway at all regardless of who is on the board when it is representing a few hundred people.

Severing that tie with Tony is the biggest challenge for you all. It’s such a nothing relationship. The only thing he has delivered on is promising a “you’ll love it” video when we signed Fatawu. You’d think he’d promised Bason et al a million dollars.

Totally agree that they should never have agreed to the FAB, so interested to see what happens to it when we go down and it’s no longer a requirement.

Good luck with it all and with getting rid of the pathetic lot “running” the show.

It's a cohesive relationship.

Nb. We did consider all starting a new group. It seemed better to reform the trust... yet we need support.

This is the problem the new voices in the Trust have.

It's why I think a new, more radical group could be better in terms of what they want to achieve.

The club, although officially linked the Trust, give them zero respect.

I think sometimes it’s best reforming from within.

If they formed a new group they’d be on the outside shouting, no line of communication with the club and the club would just ignore them as they’re not an official fan group.

It will take time but I think reforming from within, though it will take time will be a lot quicker than forming a new group. As if foxinsocks is right and this time next year the reform group have a majority on the board then pressure can start to be applied to the club and the group will hold more weight.

I wonder if a lot of the non voters are people who have been paying their subscription for years yet don’t bother beyond that, don’t open emails or follow what’s happening. If so that’s further proof of reform being needed as these people no longer feel engaged by the current set up.

Totally

Such similar conversations that were had months ago, they just hide behind “we’re not a protest group” and “it’s better to be at the table than not”, the EGM was full of it.

The club is a disaster off the pitch, they’ve fu©️ked us all over this season and on the pitch it’s chaos. The current crop won’t challenge anything for fear of not getting those Facebook profile pictures inside the club with a trophy. Pride are the same.

This is old ground I know but the two times we’ve needed action this season the group that claims to hold the club accountable have done fu©️k all.

I'm sure the voting form said Membership number if known, I didn't know mine so left it blank then I read that those without Membership Nos were discarded.

Jesus Christ, was that the case? I left mine blank also.

If those who are unhappy with the trust are split between reformers or those who want a new group then  both will be weaker and may fail.

If reform is blocked then I will switch to supporting the creation  of a new group... but right now I am focused on reform.

Six votes were discounted either as duplicated attempts, impersonation of another member, or failure to supply sufficient identifying information on the form e.g. no surname and no membership number. We determined that discounting these votes made no significant statistical alteration to the result. Meaning 233 valid votes were cast.
