I don't think it is standard to negotiate a break clause in the event of relegation, if you've given the manager a three year contract. Juric at Southampton was an exception, I don't think anyone expected him to manage them in the championship.

Even if you didn’t like Cooper, you can’t say he was just as bad. It’s biased and incorrect. Cooper was miles better than Ruud in every stat going. We scored in every single PL home game under Cooper and always picked up points against the teams around us. To go from scoring in every home game under Cooper to not scoring in nine on the trot under RvN shows the gulf between them.

OK yeah, saying he was just as bad is a touch harsh.

It's just frustrating to see other teams' fans spouting tripe like "that's what you get for sacking Cooper" and to see it coming from our own fans is worse.

The tide had turned with Cooper before he left, he lost 5 of his last 6 (against 10 man Ipswich, he drew) we were going down under him, and anybody else that came in, after that awful summer.

I'm not defending RVN, his tactics and non existent man management made certain we had no chance but look at the teams 17-and-up, we were never really in the same league.

They never seen prepared for anything to go wrong. Yes, a break clause isn't ideal to have to put in but we are likely to need to change regularly. They appoint and hope for the best. Look how unprepared they were for Maresca going.

Absolutely astounding he hasn't been sacked today. First time it's actually annoyed me.

One of the worst run clubs in the country. Get this bastard 'owner' ****ed off back to Thailand.

Wait, it took you this long to be astounded?

You are one patient homo sapiens...

RVN will be here until the end of the season, then he’ll be gone IMO. It’s probably worth Winsky booking an early holiday because he’s not getting out of the bomb squad whilst RVN is here. Same can be said for Coulibaly and Vesty (and his dog.)

Even by the pitiful standards of this club I thought we were just waiting for relegation, given what happened at Southampton. Now I think there's a real chance they are considering keeping him on for next season.

They’re probably mindful of the fact that he walked out on PSV because he felt he wasn’t supported by the board and are hoping that if they make him feel he’s not supported here he’ll quit at the end of the season - and save us the compo money.

Got a feeling the board will stick with him as we beat QPR 6-2 in the cup.

The reality is, the majority of the Championship is of a very poor standard. Ruud will likely bring us back up with the current squad.

Despite his record, Van Nistelrooy is hopeful he will be given the chance to continue in his role and lead the rebuild at the King Power Stadium.

He said following Leicester's relegation: "I’m focused on taking my responsibility to do the best things for the future and next season.

"Performances like Brighton and the Liverpool game are signs that the players are willing to do that.

"We have to take responsibility and that’s what I’m doing for the next five weeks and after that we have to see."

Van Nistelrooy highlighted the gulf in quality between the three promoted sides and the rest of the division, with Leicester and Southampton set to be joined by Ipswich in the Championshipnext season.

He is still keen on the job however and spoke about coming to an agreement with the owners over staying on.

Asked if he wants to continue, Van Nistelrooy said: "Of course. Then you have to find each other.

The winter window went a certain way and we have to take that into evaluations moving forward.

"If we are willing to do so, both sides, then we have to find each other, and of course the sooner the better."

Well the incompetent don't know they are incompetent.

Just excuses. We've set a Premier league record for most home games without scoring. He absolutely isn't good enough and has to go. We've sacked every other manager fir so much less than the disaster this bloke has rained down on the club.

When he's sacked the trance will be broken and people will realise just how diabolical he is.

Tomorrow. Keep your eyes peeled.

It'll either be the corner flag, or him stood there with a whistle around his neck.

I’ve been told nothing imminent regarding RVN leaving and me or them aren’t ITK though.

We will have to see who’s correct then.

I do not see the point in sacking him if there is no change in the board level structure of the club.
