I'm not convinced the atmosphere is going to reflect the importance of this fixture.

Getting off to a positive start under Ruud, rather than the feeling of 'same old, same old' is really important to giving us a proper lift. There's been zero momentum all season.

That is definitely true, but at PSV, they often built up with a 3 man shape. That's why sometimes even the Dutch refer to their own 433 as a 3133 in certain phases:

The system is all about creating triangles, which as you say is the Johan Cruyff 433 DNA that the dutch are famous for:

^ In this case you can see that one CDM came in deep to help the build up, whereas the other drifted to the right to create a possible passing triangle on the other wide of the pitch.

Ruud exploited our full backs pushing up against Man United and we got hot hard again by Brentford on the weekend. I think this will be the number one thing he addresses as he has already taked about bringing some ideas defensively to the way we play. This could involve restricting the full backs from raiding, or defending in such a way to force the opposition down the opposite side on our counter press if we lose the ball, to give the full back more time to get back. Or it could involve better cover through adjusting the positioning of the CDMs. I am sure he will come up with something!

In general though, you are bang on that it will be a 433. He could get El Khanouss and Buonanotte into the team that way, whilst also keeping us defensively stable, but I am not sure if he will go that way in game one.

Yes you've put it much better than me as usual ;)

I think I made a point a post or so after about one of the wing backs essentially playing in midfield on the build up.

Intruigued either way, i'm looking forward to tomorrow night and i've not felt like that since last season.

It would be good if we can have the proverbial 12th man there.

Forget Rudkin out for the time being, that can come later. No negative vibes please.

I think the most important thing on the back of three straight defeats is to not lose. So if that means sorting out the defensive shape in game1 of the Ruud era then so be it.

We need to be looking at 6 or 7 points in the next 5 games if we are going to give ourselves a fighting chance of staying up!

Just seen that this is an 8:15 kick off? Horrendous. Be empty by 85 minutes

He did this against Ajax in the league game he beat them in, but went a different way when Gakpo left with van Aanholt joining the attack and Xavi Simmons moving in centrally in the cup. These were things that made me come round on Ruud - he's doing some sophisticated things and getting results doing it. Cooper said he tried to replicate the way Villa play under Emery, but did it without understanding how he achieved it, hence looking all at sea.

The elephant in the room is if the squad is good enough though. There's an argument to just keep things simple but stable given the team we have. Lining up with Faes, Thomas and Soumare ended about as predictably as it sounds on paper.

More  accuracy,  awareness,  activity and a positive mindset

Less  dithering,  backing off, wild shots and feeling like a loser

Yep, Ruud going to get the perfect Leicester experience lol

I'm not going so that I can avoid leaving early.

I think we're going to have to get used to losing for a while longer until Ruud has had time and the Jan window opens. Until then we have to many issues to resolve and not enough decent players to resolve them with sadly

If they want the place full, don’t make a midweek 8.15 kick off, 3 weeks before Christmas v West Ham a category B game.  Assholes!

Hilarious that Brighton (a much better side and club) is a cat C with a nicer 2pm start lol

Wow, I've just seen how many tickets are available....

All over the stadium, empty seats in every block. The family stand is going to look empty.

I’m absolutely shocked that the Priority 1 Thai influencers and their children behind me at Brentford don’t fancy this.

RVN's comments from his pre match presser some of them.

What convinced you?

“When the approach was first there, you think about the club, the set-up, the players. You want to know about the people who work there and Enzo knew, what better information to get. We spoke after Chelsea and he was really positive. He was absolutely right according to the first impressions I get.”

Proud?

“A lot. To be managing this club and this group of players and representing Leicester City, I’m proud. The conversations I had, twice I flew out to London to speak to the owner, it was important to get on the same page. We are excited to start working together.”

Training ground?

“It’s amazing. Everybody tells you how great the facilities are. It’s hard to believe. I met Ancelotti in Madrid last year, but if you changed the logos, it’s similar. It’s an opportunity for the players and young players to get better.”

Obsession with defensive structure?

“It manifests in meetings, in drills on the training pitch. Yesterday and today it has been a topic of discussion. How can the back four play together with the sixes in front, who’s running, who’s following who, body positions, etc. There’s a lot of detail in there. Today was the first time we had the whole group together.”

Pick players up?

“That is what needed to be done. Sunday was the first time that I was here. Was it yesterday? It feels longer. I met the players and staff and everybody who is here. I had a meeting with the players and it was the first thing to address. The situation we’re in, the challenge we face and what’s necessary to get out. The results in recent weeks, it’s about reacting. We need clarity in how we’re going to do things. With two days it’s difficult to make too many changes, but we have started to make changes on how we want things.”

January transfers?

“That was a topic of discussion. The two conversations were very open and clear. It’s important to know how things are in the near future and the further future. January was discussed. The current squad was discussed. I have to have a good assessment over the coming weeks ahead of January, giving every player a chance. I’m working with people at the club but I’m looking to bring in other people.”

**** me 4-4-2 oop, 3-4-3 ip

For the first time this season, a coach with an actual tactical plan

Mostly likely variation of 3241 than what is seen as a 343.

Interesting to know who the **** he intends to bring into midfield from defence, or defence from midfield...

Hamza as RB into DM, Vestergaard as CB into DM.. few dodgy options
