The club will be delighted when this half arsed effort fails.

“We tried”

”we listened”

”nobody came”

”what more can we do”

etc etc

It shouldn’t be a trial, it should be an investment that blows people away so much that they change their match day routines. Lazy, sloppy bastards at LCFC.

As with so many things the club does, the actual effort is good, it's how it's handled.

Searches on the fan zone door, not letting those with the free drinks given out by the club in etc is all tone deaf again.

What was physically there could be decent, but won't be when the above is what you walk into.

Beer being £5.50 continues to be a rip off when there's a bar maybe 15m/20m away either side that offers it for cheaper.

Agree with this. The searches seemed very unnecessary. Said home fans and ticket holders only, then didn't check tickets, but did search bags/people. Be interesting to see if any feedback has been taken on board for today's game.

Would've also been brilliant if they'd brought in a safe standing demo, would hit a huge amount of people and easily accessible. But they would then leave them open to too many positive opinions

I decided to give this a go today. After passing through a checkpoint at the entrance to get tickets checked, there was another checkpoint further down for a very thorough bag search. I’d just been to the shop, so had a couple of cans in my bag. Told I couldn’t come in, but wasn’t allowed back out through the entrance. I had to be escorted by security through the fan zone, out of the exit. Felt like a criminal 😅

Sorry to digress from the main topic but does anyone know of anywhere, other than the few episodes on YouTube, where Phoenix Nights can be viewed now?

I have the box sets on DVD somewhere but don't own a DVD player anymore and can't find a site that shows or streams them.

This is asked regularly on the Phoenix Nights Facebook group.

The only place I know of on-line to watch it is on Dailymotion.

Canute's long dead, man, let it go already... :P

:jawdrop::facepalm:

To be serious though the fanzine is ok if you want a few beers but the promise of different food was a bit of a letdown either hotdog & fries or doughnuts, thought they would have invited some local food trucks to give a bit of a selection rather than what they had but fair play they tried to make a difference maybe it was space maybe next time ?

May be an image of ‎7 people, people playing hockey and ‎text that says "‎AM ANDARK RK PERA FAMBUEK ط AMPARK أ FANPARK แถนผ MiN DRINK I watch Wrexham home and away, but snuck behind enemy lines to check out the Blues this is what I learned‎"‎‎

Brum version.

If they're not going to do the expansion anytime soon why not convert he old electric repair building into a fan zone.

First visit to the Fan Zone yesterday. Had an enjoyable hour there. I think it's a positive addition to the current set up. Nice to be able to have some some local beers, the band were decent and a nice festival type atmosphere. It was very busy yesterday for obvious reasons, with according to one of the workers there, 3x the normal number. Apparently they are looking at developing it and moving it next year.

Chang.

Inch's Cider

Guinness

Not sure what was on the stand next to that as the queue was much longer.

First time visiting it yesterday to to get a glimpse of Okazaki, Drinkwater & James.

Was alright, but they need to expand the space for that many people. And perhaps have more food offerings. Donuts and pies/sausage rolls only yesterday, so not sure if there's been more in previous games.

Funny, when I turned up the queue for the craft beer van was non existent and there was a huge queue for the other one.

I assumed it would be Chang which tastes horrific so just went straight to the front of the craft queue and got a generic, slightly hoppy home brew lager which was OK.

The craft beer stall is amazing. It’s that pub in Enderby that sells Leicester named beers. I love it because I love Double IPAs. One of which has the best name ever, ‘Eh up me duck’.

Didn't go the "main" bars there. They had a stall from Mill Hill - they had a brilliant selection and it was 2 cans for £8 which isn't bad. Not much of queue compared to the main bars.

Mill Hill brewery (from Enderby). Produce great craft beers.

That's good, hopefully they'll get inside the ground soon too.

They need to open up and refurbish the old electric repair building next to the East Stand Car Park if they're not going ahead with the expansion any time soon. Would make a great fan zone and could be used throughout the winter.

The Notts County one was pretty good I thought.

That would be more permanent than what we look to have now. Leccy building would be good for it.

Went in this thing last night, the first time. I think the club are trying but having experienced a load of these, from the very best at Man City and Brondby to some pathetic attempts, ours was pretty amateur.

Especially considering the team. The marketing budget and the “focus” on FE.

Its ridiculously expensive, £3.10 for a bottle of water for my youngest and Robinsons was 50p more or something.

The band playing were pretty basic/ shite, Robert Huth was just not arsed to be there and didn’t even force a smile with the kids wanting photos. The sound was shocking and the presenter was like something from kids TV.

My youngest (13) said “she’s so cheesy” and that’s their target audience! They need someone relevant and authentic doing that job, I’m not convinced her knowledge of LCFC or football goes further than her cue cards (I may be wrong) and for that job it has to feel real.

There’s a shed load of touch points when you approach / enter and are in these “zones” and I’m not sure we address any of them. This is currently no more than a tick box on my first impressions. 4/10

If its still in the same place as before the last game of last season, it just doesn't seem big enough.

Like you say they're trying too hard. There's no spark or fun about it. Just more people milling about with a drink in their hands which is happening on the opposite side of the road outside the hotel.
